Players to watch out:
Kyshona Knight
The 32-year-old middle-order batter didn’t have a good start to her campaign, departing cheaply on scores of 4 and 17. Nonetheless, she has built on her starts, following up with scores of 32 and 88 in her next couple of outings. The team will count on the seasoned batter to make the most of this momentum, leading the scoring yet again.
Keila Elliott
The 35-year-old leg-spinner was on the receiving end in the season opener, leaking 89 runs from her 10 overs, while she did manage to pick up a wicket. However, she found form as the tournament progressed, returning figures of 2/33 (10), 3/29 (8), and 1/45 (10) in her remaining three outings. It’ll be hoped she capitalizes on this return to form.
Jannelia Glasgow
The 20-year-old tipped for a big future in West Indies cricket has further impressed in this tournament, registering scores of 62 (115), 15 (20), 51* (45), and 38 (68), while also returning figures of 2/31 (6) and 1/20 (5) in her previous couple of games following a couple of wicketless outings. She’ll be banked upon for the goods, both with the bat and ball.
Carena Noel
The 29-year-old off-spinner has had a notable season thus far, registering figures of 2/18 (5), 3/47 (7), 0/12 (3), and 2/22 (4), while also being handy with the bat lower down the order. Given the form she is in and the tracks favoring spinners, it’ll be expected of her to chip in with runs and continue providing breakthroughs.
Pitch:
With an average score in the 190s, the Warner Park wicket offers a fair contest between bat and ball. While batters find delight in the wicket, bowlers, especially spinners, hold the upper hand.
