Harmanpreet-led India hosted the Proteas from June 16 to July 9 for a multi-format series consisting of a three-match ODI series, a one-off test, and a concluding three-match T20I series. India secured a 143-run victory in the 1st ODI, followed by a narrow four-run win in the 2nd, and concluded the series with a six-wicket victory in the final ODI, achieving a clean sweep in the ODI series, winning 3-0, all held in Bengaluru. Following the ODIs, they secured a 10-wicket win in the one-off test in Chennai. The Proteas made a comeback in the first T20I of the three-match T20I series, winning by 12 runs. The second T20I resulted in no outcome due to rain. In the final T20I, India leveled the series at 1-1, registering a 10-wicket victory.

India Women won the toss and elected to field first against South Africa. South Africa’s innings struggled, with captain Laura Wolvaardt dismissed early for 9 runs. Tazmin Brits resisted with 20 runs off 23 balls, but wickets fell regularly. Marizanne Kapp and Anneke Bosch added 10 and 17 runs, respectively, but the team was bowled out for 84 runs in 17.1 overs. Pooja Vastrakar starred with the ball, taking 4 wickets for 13 runs, while Radha Yadav took 3 wickets for 6 runs. In response, India’s openers chased the target swiftly. Shafali Verma scored 27 not out off 25 balls, and Smriti Mandhana smashed 54 not out off 40 balls. India reached the target in 10.5 overs without losing a wicket, securing a 10-wicket victory. Pooja Vastrakar was honored with both the Player of the Match and Player of the Series awards for her consistent performance, taking a total of 8 wickets in the three T20Is.
