4th T20I – South Africa Women beat West Indies in 4th T20I to keep series alive

With Openers firing for the first time in series , South Africa registered their first victory in the T20 series.

For the first time on the tour the Proteas captain won the toss and decided to field first.

Dane van Niekerk missed this match because of her ankle injury .

After tight first over from Kapp , Hayley Mathews hit 3 Fours in the very next over but her aggression ended when Tumi Sekhukhune got her caught to Kapp bringing Captain Stafanie Taylor on crease who alongside with McLean built steady 73 run partnership . They began at a slow pace reading the pitch then accelerated after first 8 overs. Major contribution came from McLean who made 57 *off 61 which includes two sixes whereas Taylor contributed with her 26 off 31. Aggressor Deandra Dottin once again with quick 28 finished the innings on a high note taking the total 135 . Tumi Sekhukhune remained the only wicket taker who took Taylor later in the innings.While Marizanne Kapp only gave 13 in her quota of 4 overs.

Lizelle Lee showed her true colours for the first time in the series , batted the way she is known for . 19 years Laura Woolvardt also look solid on the other end .
Both attacked certain bowlers to keep the pressure on the opposition . Last match hero Anisa Mohammed got smashed everytime when she came to bowl . Lizelle Lee’s brilliant inning came to end in the 12th over when Afy Fletcher got her caught. At that time South Africa was already on 89 . Sune Luus also dominated the bowlers with her quick 19 before she got out to Taylor when only 2 more runs were needed to win . Captain Chloe finished the job in couple of deliveries . Laura remained not out with her impressive half century .

South Africa will look to keep this momentum going so that they can level the series 2-2 in the final match which will be played on Sunday on the same venue .
