Players to watch out:

Henriette Ishimwe

The 19-year-old all-rounder has played 62 T20 Internationals (T20Is), amassing 658 runs and taking 64 wickets, with respective bests of 49* and 5/6. In the previous inaugural edition earlier this year, she accumulated 171 runs and finished as the leading wicket-taker with 11 wickets from just 5 games.

Grace Mugwaneza

The 16-year-old pacer hasn’t yet played for any of the national sides, be it the under-19 or the senior team. However, she made an impressive debut in the previous edition by taking 7 wickets in only 4 games at an economy rate of 3.85. It wouldn’t be surprising if this promising pacer plays all games this season and has another notable season.

Cathia Uwamahoro

The 30-year-old batter, in 30 T20I appearances, has scored 362 runs, with the highest score being 44*. Lately, Cathia has struggled with the bat and will be eager to regain her touch eyeing a better season this time. In the inaugural edition, she was the leading run-scorer for the side but managed only 85 runs in 5 innings.

Janet Mbabazi

The 27-year-old all-rounder in T20Is for Uganda has scored 797 runs and bagged 60 wickets, including a best of 42* with the bat and 4/12 with the ball. In the previous edition, Janet failed to contribute with the bat, but in the lead-up to the tournament, she has consistently chipped in with the bat for her national side, while bowling now being a concern.

Pitch:

The center wicket at Gahanga International Cricket Stadium, Kigali, offers a balanced playing surface that slightly favors the bowlers. While it is good for batting, the average score in the 90s suggests the assistance that bowlers, particularly pacers can expect from the wicket.

Weather:

With partly cloudy skies overhead and a low chance of rain during match hours, the forecast promises a complete game of cricket. The temperature is expected to hover around 23°C, with light winds and a humidity level of 68%.
