Players to watch out:

Grace Scrivens

The 20-year-old all-rounder in the 2023 CE Cup bagged 5 wickets from as many innings, while only managing 97 runs from 6 games. Grace kicked off her ’24 season with a solid 63* and in subsequent games registered consecutive scores of 46* and 118*. In the T20 opener, though she departed cheaply for 8, she’ll be backed to find her footing and also chip in with the ball.

Mady Villiers

The 25-year-old bowling all-rounder, from 7 CE Cup games, claimed 10 wickets and added 55 runs to the tally last summer. In the ongoing domestic season, while runs off Mady’s blade are limited to starts, she took 7 wickets from 6 One Dayers and carried her form into the T20 competition, producing figures of 2/37. The team will count on her for all-round efforts.

Freya Kemp

The 19-year-old all-rounder hasn’t bowled lately; however, she has been more than handy with the bat and most recently scored big runs for England A in an away series. Freya kicked off her ’24 domestic season with a fine 50 and followed up with scores of 1*, 27, and 44*. Though she departed cheaply for 6 in the T20 opener, given the form she is in, it’ll be hoped she finds her back amongst runs.

Mary Taylor

The 19-year-old pacer, though only struck 2 wickets from 6 CE Cup games last summer, was economical. Mary had a notable Under-19 series in Sri Lanka earlier this year; however, she hasn’t picked up many wickets this domestic season. Nonetheless, come the T20 opener, she chipped in scoring 13 runs and returned figures of 2/12, and will be backed to capitalize on this return to form.

Pitch:

The 22 yards at the venue make a well-balanced center wicket, providing a fair contest between bat and ball. The wicket assists both spinners and pacers effectively, while batters too enjoy their time in the middle with an average score in the 120s.

Weather:

It will be a pleasant day to be at the County Ground, Chelmsford, for some cricket with partly cloudy skies and a low chance of rain. The temperature is forecasted to hover around 17°C, with light winds and a humidity level of 62%.

Fantasy playing XI:
