Kirby had her names in the mix nowadays thanks to her inclusion in the Windies squad for women’s t20 world cup. Her story has been inspiring as her inclusion in the squad marks her comeback in international settings after 12 years. She played her first matches against Netherland.
She then had to feature with the team for a series of matches where she performed up to expectation in the early stages. However, she could not keep her figures high in the last two ODI of the series. She was dropped off the side but her spirit and love for the game never faded. She continued to play for Trinidad and Tobago till 2015 in the women’s regional women championship. Her efforts didn’t go in vain as she was selected for wearing the prestigious maroon in one of the most anticipated and celebrated tournaments of the world.
A student who enjoys studying cricket more than anything else, keen to learn the insights of the women’s game.
