In the fourth match of the Women’s T20I Nordic Cup, Denmark will lock horns with Sweden on the 25th of August at 6:30 pm IST. The match will take place at the Tikkurila Cricket Ground, Vantaa. The two sides have played each other twice and Sweden won both matches.
In their short history, Denmark has played only three internationals and all of them have gone against them. Sweden has taken part in 15 international matches and has won 9 of them. In their last 5 matches, they won just one.
On that note, let’s look at the squads.
Denmark – Natasha Cecillie Holm, Nita Parmer Dalgaard, Maria Lyngby Karlsen (wk), Anne-Sofie Brocksle, Sigrid Kirstine Buch, Charlotte Pallesen, Divya Golechha, Ronja Thoger Nielsen, Sofie Homaa Petersen, Luise Marie Christen, Ane Manon Nolssonan, Annette Braarup Lyng, Kirstine Rorsted Mos, Tine Steen Erichsen
Sweden – Eman Asim, Kanchan Rana, Rashmi Samashekar, Ekaerina Bogdanova, Elsa Thelander (wk), Signe Lundell, Meghana Alugunoolla (wk), Hareer Chamto, Imali Jaasooriya, Surya Ravuri, Maria Ehsan, Saanvi Bhanushali, Anya Vaidya, Gunjan Shukla (c), Dia Gangwani, Fatima Zahra, Ritu Raheja, Neeha Kayani
Players to watch for
· Tine Steen Erichsen
The veteran, has played all three matches for her country. Her figure of 3/41 is the only three-fer in their short history. Moreover, she is more than a handy batter and has scored 41 runs from the 3 matches. For Denmark to register their first win of the format, she will have a major role.
· Divya Golecha
The right-arm speedster has picked 2 wickets with a best of 1/8 coming against the same opposition in May 2022. She will look to add to her tally in the upcoming contest.
· Kanchan Rana
She is the best batter from the Swedish side. Her 227 runs are the most by any player from Sweden. A high score of 40 came against the same opposition in their last series. She can bowl a bit of pace bowling and has picked 1 scalp also. Her all-round ability might come in handy.
· Anya Vaidya
The young 16-year talent is the only half-centurion from her country. She achieved this feat against Italy. Apart from this, she is the second-highest Swedish wicket-taker with 13 wickets, thus proving to be a vital cog.
The pitch majorly favors the bowlers and the average first innings score of 87 suggests the same. But if batted sensibly, any team can score a decent amount of runs and can have the upper hand.
The weather looks good with only 20% precipitation. It will be an overcast condition with a humid environment. The wind will blow slowly at just 11 km/h and the temperature will hang around 20 degrees Celsius.
