After winning the toss, Malaysia opted to bat first but struggled to accelerate on a slightly sluggish pitch. They managed to post 111 for 5 in 20 overs, largely due to Mas Elysa’s unbeaten 56 off 63 balls. Elysa’s innings displayed patience and composure, featuring five boundaries and anchoring the innings following early breakthroughs from Nepal’s bowlers.

She received some support from Mahirah Izzati Ismail, who scored 18 off 19 balls, and Nur Dania Syuhada, who contributed 15 runs off 17 balls. However, Malaysia’s struggles in the final overs, combined with tight bowling from Nepal, kept the total within reach.

Kabita Kunwar led the bowling effort for Nepal, taking 3 wickets for just 10 runs in four overs, which included the critical wicket of Malaysia’s captain, Winifred Anne Duraisingam. Sita Rana Magar was economical, allowing only 18 runs in her four overs, and Samjhana Khadka added another wicket to maintain pressure throughout the innings.

In their chase for 112, Nepal began cautiously but soon took command of the game. Kabita Kunwar carried her form into the batting, scoring a brisk 23 runs off 21 balls with four boundaries before being dismissed. Captain Indu Barma then took charge, playing a commanding innings of 48 off 39 deliveries, including six fours.

Barma’s calculated aggression and ability to rotate the strike proved crucial in keeping the scoreboard ticking. She was well-supported by RC Belbashi, who remained unbeaten on 23, helping guide Nepal home in 17.3 overs, finishing at 115 for four with 15 balls to spare.

For Malaysia Women, bowlers Nur Dania Syuhada and Ainna Hamizah Hashim picked up one wicket each, but their efforts weren’t enough to defend the modest total. While Malaysia’s fielding showed moments of sharpness, a few misfields and missed chances cost them key momentum during Nepal’s chase.

Kabita Kunwar was deservedly named Player of the Match for her impactful all-round display, combining her lethal bowling with a vital contribution at the top of the order. Her performance further solidified her reputation as one of Nepal’s promising young talents in women’s cricket.

This victory was a significant morale boost for the Nepal Women’s cricket team, showcasing their resilience and teamwork as they bounced back after trailing in the series. For the Malaysian side, the loss highlighted some vulnerabilities in the middle order but also underscored Mas Elysa’s consistency, who has been in great form throughout the series.

As the teams prepare for the series finale, all eyes will be on whether Nepal can maintain their momentum or if Malaysia will reclaim dominance on home soil. With the series now tied 2–2, the fifth and final T20I promises to be a thrilling decider. Both teams have displayed tremendous progress in the associate women’s cricket circuit, and their performances in Kuala Lumpur reflect the growing depth and competitiveness of women’s cricket in Asia.
