Match 2 : Summary : KSL 2019 – Western Storm defeats Loughborough Lightning by 7 Wickets

Western Storm won by 7 wickets in their opening match of KSL 2019 against the home team Loughborough Lightning at Loughborough on Tuesday.
After winning the toss Loughborough skipper opted to bat . Hard hitting all-rounder Hayley Matthews and England national Amy Jones opened the Innings.

Loughborough had a tough start to the Innings with Matthews departing for duck. The other overseas player Chamari Athapathui and Skipper Elwiss also followed the same. Loughborough were in huge trouble at 15 – 3. On the other side Amy Jones took the responsibility of building the Innings with Proteas Mignon du preez. Which helped them to reach moderate total of 125 in 20 overs. Freya Davies ,Claire Nicholas took couple of wickets and Deepti Sharma chipped in with a wicket.

Chasing 126 , Rachel Priest and Mandhana opened Innings for Storm. Priest got out after hitting a Six and Four on 12 . Mandhana on the other side played a sensible Innings along with the Skipper Heather Knight. Mandhana departed on 32. Later Fran Wilson joined the party along with Skipper to reach the target in 17 overs. Sarah Glenn picked up couple of wickets for Lightning.
