In the first ODI, batting first, the Netherlands were bundled out for a paltry score of 84 in 32.5 overs. Frederique Overdijk top scored with an unbeaten 38 off 65 for Netherlands, while for Ireland, Arlene Kelly and Rachel Delaney were the most successful bowlers picking up three wickets each. In reply, Ireland chased the target in 19.3 overs, winning the match by five wickets. Gaby Lewis led the run chase from the front with 25 runs off 32 balls. Orla Prendergast also chipped in with an undefeated 24 off 35. For Netherlands, Iris Zwilling and Silver Siegers starred with the ball as they accounted for two scalps apiece.

Players to watch out for

Arlene Kelly:

The right arm pace sensation from Ireland wreaked havoc with the ball picking up 9/3 in seven overs, including two maidens. She opened the bowling with Iris Zwilling and used the new ball well. She was one of the most successful and economical bowlers for Ireland in the first ODI.

Gaby Lewis: 

The right-handed opening batter of Ireland led the run chase from the front in the first ODI against Netherlands. She mustered 25 runs off 32 balls, including three boundaries. She lay a solid foundation as she was there in the middle for the first 10 overs. In the process, she stitched a 39-run opening partnership with Leah Paul.

Frederique Overdijk: 

The right-handed middle order batter of Netherlands top scored with an unbeaten 38 off 65 in the first ODI against Ireland. Coming in at number seven, she was the only batter from the Netherlands to score in double digits. She hit five boundaries in her innings.

Iris Zwilling: 

The right arm speedster from Netherlands, who opened the bowling in the first ODI against Ireland scalped 20/2 in seven overs, including one maiden. She bowled well with the new ball. Apart from being one of the most successful bowlers, she was the most economical bowler.

Pitch

This will be the second match of the tournament at this venue. In the last match that was played here, 171 runs were scored and 15 wickets fell in the process. Batting did not look easy, on the other hand, the bowlers enjoyed bowling on this wicket. Expect an exciting contest between bat and ball.
