With the ICC Women’s Championship points already secured in the bag, this finale at the picturesque Worcestershire ground becomes a contest of pride, momentum, and final impressions before the teams turn their attention to future assignments. England have been clinical in the first two meetings, chasing down Ireland’s totals with relative ease and showcasing depth in both batting and bowling units.

Squads:

England Women’s Cricket Team

Charlie Dean (C), Maia Bouchier, Alice Capsey, Kira Chathli, Tilly Corteen-Coleman, Sophia Dunkley, Lauren Filer, Dani Gibson, Jodi Grewcock, Freya Kemp, Ryana MacDonald-Gay, Charis Pavely, Grace Potts, Mady Villiers, Issy Wong

Ireland Women’s Cricket Team

Gaby Lewis (C), Christina Coulter Reilly, Georgina Dempsey, Amy Hunter, Arlene Kelly, Louise Little, Jane Maguire, Lara McBride, Kia McCartney, Cara Murray, Leah Paul, Orla Prendergast, Rebecca Stokell, Alice Tector

Players to watch out:

Amy Hunter

The young 20-year-old wicket-keeper batter has been in sublime form, registering back-to-back half-centuries in the first couple of games in the series so far. As a result, she is currently the leading run-scorer for Ireland and the 2nd highest run-scorer of the series with 126 runs at a strike rate of 67.74 and an outstanding average of 63 in a couple of matches with the bat for her side in the series so far. She will yet again play a massive role at the top of the order in terms of setting a solid platform alongside skipper Gaby Lewis, if the visitors are to avoid an ODI whitewash.

Orla Prendergast

The 24-year-old all-rounder is one of the most promising match-winners for Ireland. She is currently the 5th highest run-scorer for Ireland with 44 runs at an average of 22 in a couple of matches with the bat for her side in the series so far. However, she hasn’t been at her best with the bat and has also been wicketless with the ball for her side so far in the series. She needs to find her best rhythm for Ireland to salvage some pride.

Maia Bouchier

The 27-year-old experienced top-order batter has made a strong case for herself, sealing her spot in the one-day side. She has carried her domestic form to the international level. As a result, she is currently the leading run-scorer of the series with 149 runs at a strike rate of 118.25 and an average of 74.50, including her career-best century in a couple of innings with the bat for her side in the series so far. Maia Bouchier’s backing as an opener has worked well in the series for the home side.

Alice Capsey

The 22-year-old batting all-rounder is adapting to her new role as a wicket-keeper batter well in this series. She has scored 42 runs at a strike rate of 97.67 in a couple of innings with the bat for her side in the series so far. A decisive knock in the upcoming clash will do a world of good for her confidence as a batter heading into a crucial 4-5 month phase.

Pitch:

The surface offers assistance to the pacers early on before the batters can take advantage of the conditions and pile on the runs later on in the innings.
