Players to watch out:
Ngawang Choden
The 17-year-old keeper-batter, from 17 T20Is, has added 226 runs to the tally, including the highest score of 28, and has picked up as many wickets from 4 bowling outings. Ngawang Choden, in her most recent series earlier this year, registered scores of 9, 25, and 4, while her bowling returns read 3/5 and 0/13. She can be banked upon for all-round efforts.
Anju Gurung
The 30-year-old left-arm pacer, averaging 11.65 and maintaining an economy rate of 3.77, has scalped 23 wickets from 20 T20Is, with the best being 3/6, and can be handy with the bat on a few occasions. Anju, in her most recent series earlier this year, produced bowling figures of 3/6, 1/9, and 0/14. The seasoned pacer will be counted on to lead the tally.
Shafina Mahesh
The 24-year-old all-rounder in T20Is, from 40 outings, has amassed 502 runs, including a highest score of 92*, while from 28 bowling innings has secured 24 wickets, with the best of 4/2. In her most recent series earlier this year, while Shafina struggled for runs, she was economical with the ball, though managed only a wicket, and it’ll be hoped she steps up her efforts.
Vinu Kumar
The 39-year-old all-rounder, from 23 T20Is, has posted 158 runs on the board and has taken 16 wickets from 21 bowling innings, registering respective bests of 38 and 3/8. Struggling with both bat and ball in a multi-team event earlier this year, Vinu didn’t contribute much to the team and should be backed to stage a turnaround, delivering the goods.
Pitch:
The wicket at the Udayana Cricket Ground offers a relatively balanced playing field as the conditions favor both batters and bowlers. Spinners gain an advantage from the conditions, and a score in the 140s is considered to be challenging on this track.
Weather:
The temperature is forecasted to hover around 27°C, with a humidity level of 84% and moderate winds. If the skies don’t clear, expect rain delays and interruptions during the match hours, with showers on the radar throughout the day.
Fantasy playing XI:
Ngawang Choden, Shafina Mahesh, Dechen Wangmo, GK Diviya, Roshni Seth, Tshering Zangmo, Sonam, Ananya Sharma, Anju Gurung, Ada Bhasin, Johanna Pooranakaran
