Woah! What was that nail-biter at the Dhaka Stadium? Especially that part of the game which resumed after the rains. The third and last ODI match between India and Bangladesh went to the final over, the final ball, and ultimately ended in a draw.
The day started with Bangladesh winning the toss and opting to bat first. Bangladesh displayed a solid performance on the crease as Indian bowlers struggled to take a wicket. They scored a total of 225 runs for a loss of 4 wickets. Fargana Hoque scored a special century, becoming the first Bangladeshi batter to score a ton in Women’s ODIs.
India’s Shafali Verma and Yastika Bhatia went back cheaply. But a partnership of 107 runs between Smriti Mandhana and Harleen Deol kept India in the game. However, it was the game after the rain where India lost its momentum and lost their last 5 wickets within 30 Runs.
The turning point in the game was Harmanpreet Kaur’s controversial dismissal. After India lost their captain, Harmanpreet Kaur, India couldn’t recover from that, losing the last 5 wickets in just 30 Runs.
Harmanpreet Kaur’s dismissal caught everyone’s attention after she showed her discontentment to the umpire’s decision and in the process, smashed the stumps.
