Garth was found to have breached Article 2.3 of the ICC code of conduct which relates to the “use of audible obscenity during an international match.”

The incident occurred during the final ODI of Australia’s 3-match ODI series against India during the fourth over when Garth expressed frustration using inappropriate language after conceding a boundary.

As a result of this incident, Garth received one demerit point on her disciplinary record which also marked her first offence in 24 months.

The Australian pacer admitted to the offense and accepted the proposed sanction by David Gilbert of the Emirates ICC International Panel of Match Referees, which resulted in no formal hearing.

The charge was brought forward by one-field umpires Claire Polosak and Jacquline Williams, third umpire Eloise Sheridan, and fourth umpire Ashlee Gibbons who leveled the stated charge.

Penalties for Level 1 breaches range from an official reprimand to a fine up to 50% of the match fee, alongside receiving one or two demerit points.

In that game, Garth bowled four, finishing with none for 22. Australia registered a comprehensive victory to complete a 3-0 whitewash against India in the three-match ODI series.
