Group E Round II Summary – Women’s Senior T20 Trophy – Delhi, Bengal and Tamil Nadu get wins
Match 1: Delhi v Saurashtra
Venue: SCA Stadium Khanderi B Ground, Rajkot
Delhi on batting first, scored 131 runs losing 5 wickets. Jyoshi Subhash Nain was the top performer, scoring 43 runs in 36 balls.
Saurashtra could not chase the score, with Pooja Shantilal scoring 28 of 31 balls. They were all bowled out for 90 in 19.2 overs.
Result: Delhi won by 41 runs
Match 2: Bengal v Cricket Association of Mizoram
Venue: Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Rajkot
Mizoram scored 63 runs in their allotted 20 overs, losing 7 wickets. As many as 4 wickets were lost in the form of run-outs.
Bengal saw it’s opening batter Paramita Roy getting out on a duck in the first over itself. But Gayatri Pada 38(27) and Prativa Rana 26(31) took Bengal over the line in the 11th over itself.
Result: Bengal won by 9 wickets.
Match 3: Goa v Tamil Nadu
Venue: SCA Stadium Khanderi B Ground, Rajkot
Batting first, Tamil Nadu posted a score of 149/3 for Goa. The highest contribution came from Niranjana Nagarajan who was absolutely magnificent. She made 74 runs in 46 balls, at a strike rate of 160.86. From Goa’s bowlers, it was captain Sanjula Sudhakar Naik who scalped all the 3 wickets, giving only 19 runs in her four overs.
In the second innings, Goa came close to the total, but could not finish the chase. It was again Sanjula who top-scored with 60 off 53, taking Goa to 140 runs.
Result: Tamil Nadu win by 9 runs.
