Date of Birth: 13 February 2002
Batting Style: Right-handed batter
Bowling Style: Right-arm off-break
Role: Middle-order batter

Sobhana Mostary emerged from Bangladesh’s youth cricket system as one of the country’s brightest batting prospects and has steadily developed into a versatile presence in the national side across formats. Born in Rangpur, she began playing cricket alongside boys in her neighbourhood before joining the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan (BKSP), where her natural strokeplay and batting temperament quickly stood out.
A technically compact right-handed batter, Mostary has adapted to multiple batting roles throughout her career, featuring in the top order as well as the middle order depending on Bangladesh’s requirements. Her ability to rotate strike, find boundaries regularly, and accelerate when needed has made her an increasingly important part of Bangladesh’s white-ball setup.
Sobhana Mostary’s International Career
Mostary received her first senior international call-up in 2018 for Bangladesh’s tour of South Africa and made her ODI debut later that year at just 16 years old, becoming one of Bangladesh’s youngest ODI debutants.
She made her T20I debut against the Netherlands during the 2019 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier in Scotland and has since become a regular feature in Bangladesh’s white-ball squads. By the end of 2025, Mostary had already featured in five ICC World Cups across ODI and T20 formats, underlining the trust Bangladesh have placed in her at a young age.
In T20Is, Mostary has played 57 matches and scored 885 runs at an average of 19.23 and an encouraging strike rate of 96.61, including one half-century. Her ability to score at a quicker tempo compared to several other Bangladesh batters gives added balance to the batting lineup, particularly during middle overs where momentum often becomes crucial.
For the 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in England, Mostary’s adaptability could play a significant role for Bangladesh. English conditions often reward batters capable of balancing patience with controlled aggression, and her experience across multiple ICC tournaments could prove valuable in pressure situations.
