Jemimah Rodrigues has built her career around composure, adaptability and versatility, establishing herself as one of India’s most dependable middle-order batters. Growing up she excelled in multiple sports including football, basketball and hockey before fully focusing on cricket. Her junior cricket numbers quickly highlighted her talent — she scored unbeaten knocks of 202 and 178 in Under-19 cricket and finished one season with more than 1000 runs at an average above 112 while also contributing with her off-spin bowling.

Her performances through Mumbai’s domestic system fast-tracked her development, and she soon emerged as one of India’s leading young batting prospects. Franchise cricket would later become a major factor in refining her game, particularly her ability to score quickly under pressure.

Jemimah Rodrigues’ International Career

Jemimah made her ODI and T20I debuts for India in 2018 and quickly impressed enough to earn selection for the Women’s T20 World Cup squad that same year. Although she initially featured as an opener, she later evolved into a middle-order batter and finisher, adding greater flexibility to India’s batting unit.

Her journey included setbacks, including losing her place briefly in 2021, but overseas franchise opportunities helped elevate her game, particularly her power-hitting. One of the defining moments of her career came during the 2025 Women’s ODI World Cup when she struck an unbeaten 127 against Australia in the semi-final, helping India complete a historic chase and move into the final on their way to a maiden World Cup title.
