Brooke Halliday is an important all-rounder for New Zealand and is known for her calm batting and smart cricket skills. She mainly bats in the middle order and helps the team during difficult situations. Halliday has developed into a finisher, playing the big attacking shots, but is also very useful when it comes to anchoring and building partnerships.

Born in Hamilton, New Zealand, Halliday started her domestic cricket career with Northern Districts before later moving to Auckland. She worked hard in domestic cricket for many years and became one of the top-scoring batters in New Zealand women’s cricket. Her strong performances finally earned her a place in the national team in 2021.

Halliday made both her ODI and T20I debuts against England in 2021. Since then, she has become a regular member of the White Ferns squad. She was also part of New Zealand’s squads for the 2022 Commonwealth Games and the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024.

Halliday has played 55 WT20I matches for New Zealand and scored 515 runs in 42 innings. She has the highest score of 46 not out and bats with a strike rate of 98.28. Even though she is yet to score a half-century in T20I cricket, she has played many useful innings for the team in pressure moments.

With the ball, Halliday has taken 8 wickets in WT20Is with best bowling figures of 2/11. Her medium-pace bowling gives New Zealand another useful option, especially in the middle overs.

Halliday has also played franchise cricket in the Women’s Big Bash League for Perth Scorchers Women. In 3 matches, she scored 109 runs at an average of 36.33 and a strike rate of 118.47. Her highest score in the tournament is 47. Even though she has not played many franchise leagues compared to other players, Halliday has shown that she can perform well in T20 cricket and adjust to different conditions quickly.
