Sophie Devine is one of the best all-rounders in women’s cricket and has been an important player for New Zealand for many years. She is known for her powerful batting, attacking shots, and smart medium-pace bowling. Devine has won many matches for New Zealand with both bat and ball and is respected around the world for her experience and leadership.

Born in Wellington, Devine started her international career for New Zealand in 2006 when she was just 17 years old. Before taking up cricket full-time, she also played hockey for New Zealand. As her career moved forward, she developed from a lower-order batter into one of the most dangerous top-order batters in women’s cricket. Her fearless style and clean hitting have made her one of the most exciting players in the game.

Devine has had a fantastic WT20I career with New Zealand. In 151 WT20I matches, she has scored 3587 runs at an average of 28.46 and a strike rate of 121.55. She has scored one century and 24 half-centuries, with a highest score of 105 against South Africa. Devine is currently fifth on the list of highest run-scorers in women’s T20I cricket and also holds the record for scoring fifty-plus runs in six consecutive T20I innings.

With the ball, Devine has taken 128 wickets in WT20Is at an average of 18.87 with best bowling figures of 4/12. She is among the leading wicket-takers in women’s T20I history and has been equally important with both bat and ball for New Zealand.

Devine has also done very well in franchise cricket around the world. In the Women’s Big Bash League, she has scored 4195 runs in 143 matches at a strike rate of 126.85, including four centuries and 22 half-centuries. She has also taken 124 wickets in the competition and has become one of the top all-rounders in WBBL history.

In the Women’s Premier League, Devine has scored 645 runs at a strike rate of 151.40 and picked up 26 wickets in 27 matches while representing Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Gujarat Giants. She has also played in The Hundred, where she scored 576 runs and claimed 16 wickets. In the Women’s Caribbean Premier League, she scored 253 runs in just five matches, including an unbeaten century for Guyana Amazon Warriors Women.
