Match 2 Preview – ICC Women’s World T20 – Australia vs Pakistan Women

The first match of the ICC WT20 saw Harmanpreet Kaur go all guns blazing against New Zealand women and won it by 34 Runs.

Match 2 of Group B will be played between Australia and Pakistan. The favourites being Australia, will be watching their group counterparts India and New Zealand battling it out at the same venue closely.

The wicket at Guyana is expected to be on the slower side and will get slower as the day progresses. Spinners will have a significant role in today’s game. With bigger boundaries, slower outfields they will be hard to get away with.

The toss-winning skipper will opt to bat first and put up a big score on board. Chasing a big score will be an uphill task for any team considering the sluggish wicket.

Australia have some good spinners in their squad. The likes of Ashleigh Gardner, Sophie Molineux and medium pacer Megan Schutt will relish the prevailing pitch conditions. The Aussie top order will have to work hard to see off Sana Mir and Nashra Sandhu.

The Pakistani women will have to play out of their skins to get past the Aussie women. While they are capable to give a tough time to their opponents, they will have to execute their plans on the field. The batters will be expected to back up their accomplished bowling department.

The teams on paper, may easily outweigh each other, but given the day and the conditions, it has all the ingredients of being a good contest.
