West Indies Women's Cricket Squad Analysis for T20 World Cup 2018

Defending Champion West Indies is ready to defend their title on home turf as they announced their 15 member squad for the T20 World Cup which will be played from November 9 to 24.

Champions have retained 11 of their players from last World Cup squad whereas Cheadan Nation , Natasha McLean , Chinelle Henry and Sheneta Grimmond are the four other members who have been included.

Sheneta Grimmond is an uncapped player who hails from Guyana yet to make her debut at highest level. She can be a suprising element for the oppositions.
Chinelle Henry’s inclusion was a shocking one as she last represented Windies 3 years ago against Sri Lanka. Her all round ability might help her team in the run.

Cheadan Nation and wicketkeeper Natasha McLean are the seasoned campaigners and have showed their potential especially in recent series against South Africa where McLean was Player of the Series. Her consistency with bat in the top order was appreciable.

World no. 2 Batswomen and no. 1 all rounder Stafanie Taylor will be excited to lead this side and her role will be very crucial if they want to rejoice those World Cup winning moments. She was the highest scorer in the tournament last time around and was very effective with ball as well , so being the backbone of the team she needs to fire and lead from the front, whenever she scores team reaches a descent target . No doubt others need to contribute as well.

2016 Final hero Hayley Mathews is still young and will try to replicate the heroics once again as she will be going in the tournament with runs in her bag ,she played two brilliant innings recently against South Africa .

Deandra Dottin who is a top class all rounder and her ability to score quick runs in the end is as good as anyone in the world. Kycia Knight and Shemaine Campbelle will also try to accelerate the runrate in the end . Merrisa Aguilleira’s experience will be handy for the team and the captain.

The bowling attack looks great . Deandra Dottin will be their main strike bowler whereas Shamilia Connell and Shakera Selman will try to pick wickets in the powerplays , Hayley Mathews can be seen bowling in the first six overs as well . Captain Stafanie is known for her tight bowling and knack of taking wickets . Leg spin service will be provided by Afy Fletcher and Anisa Mohammed is another good off spinner in the attack.

So,the team got great variety of batswomen and bowlers and have quality All-rounders who can deal with any situation they were put in , the only issue is consistency which they will try bring on.
