Despite boasting a star-studded lineup, Birmingham Phoenix has struggled to find success in The Hundred. They showed early promise with third- and fourth place finishes in the first two editions but saw a steep decline in the seasons that followed. Their third campaign was particularly poor, ending without a single win, and the 2024 season offered little improvement as they finished seventh out of eight teams. Looking ahead to the new season, the Phoenix will be determined to put past disappointments behind them. With fresh faces in the squad and a renewed sense of purpose, they will be aiming to turn their fortunes around and launch a serious challenge for the title.

Georgia Voll
At just 22 years old, Georgia Voll is one of Australia’s rising stars. In only her second ODI appearance, she announced herself with a stunning century against India. She continued to impress during the 2025 WPL, scoring a rapid half-century in just her second match, followed by a brilliant unbeaten 99 in the very next game, narrowly missing out on a well-deserved century. This season marks her debut in The Hundred, and her ability to provide quick starts at the top will be vital to Birmingham Phoenix’s campaign.
Sterre Kalis
The Netherlands top-order batter has featured in 14 matches in The Hundred, scoring over 280 runs so far. She has also been active in the domestic circuit with Warwickshire, putting in steady performances. With the spotlight of a global tournament, she will be eager to make her mark and establish herself on the big stage.
Emma Lamb
The English batter has been in impressive form of late. She looked confident during the ODI series against India, where she notched up a half-century, and also scored a century against Essex in the One-Day Cup. In The Hundred, she has accumulated 383 runs at a healthy strike rate of 115. In addition to her batting prowess, she is a handy off-break bowler and can contribute with a few overs when required.
Ellyse Perry
Ellyse Perry is undoubtedly one of the greatest cricketers to have ever played the game, across both men’s and women’s formats. Renowned for her achievements in both cricket and football, she continues to set high standards in international sport. In this year’s WPL, she was in sublime form, amassing 372 runs at an average of 93 and a strike rate close to 150. With no international commitments following the New Zealand series, Perry travelled to England and turned out for Hampshire, where she continued her strong run with both bat and ball. In The Hundred, she has already scored over 330 runs and taken 8 wickets.
Amy Jones
England’s regular wicketkeeper-batter, Amy Jones, may have looked a bit scratchy during the series against India, but she bounced back strongly with two consecutive centuries against the West Indies in the ODIs. In The Hundred, she has already amassed over 550 runs and recorded more than 25 dismissals behind the stumps. Jones will be keen to rediscover her rhythm in this year’s tournament and play a key role in Birmingham Phoenix’s pursuit of their maiden title.
Marie Kelly
Marie Kelly has shown promising form in recent domestic matches and will be looking to carry that momentum into The Hundred. With 234 runs to her name in the competition so far, she will be eager to add to her tally and make valuable contributions for Birmingham Phoenix this season.
Megan Schutt
Although Megan Schutt has only featured in one previous season of The Hundred, back in 2022, she is set to make her return to the unique franchise competition this year. With five wickets to her name in the tournament so far, the world’s leading T20I wicket-taker will be aiming to deliver regular breakthroughs for her new club and play a key role in their campaign for success.
Emily Arlott
Seasoned fast-bowling veteran Emily Arlott has taken over 30 wickets in The Hundred and maintains an economy rate of under 8, highlighting her consistency in the format. She is well-equipped to partner with Megan Schutt, providing early breakthroughs with the new ball and delivering tight overs at the death. Arlott is also a useful lower-order batter, capable of clearing the ropes when needed, with a strike rate of over 116.
Hannah Baker
Young leg-spinner Hannah Baker made her senior international debut last year against Ireland, following an impressive rise through the domestic circuit. Her consistent performances have earned her a spot in The Hundred, where she has the opportunity to learn from and play alongside experienced players. With 13 wickets to her name in the competition so far, Baker’s clever variations and control make her a potential match-winner for Birmingham Phoenix.
Mary Taylor
Another exciting young prospect in the Phoenix squad is Mary Taylor, a medium pacer who represents Hampshire in domestic cricket. Although she hasn’t had many opportunities in The Hundred so far, she has already picked up three wickets. Eager to make her mark, Taylor will be looking to contribute more with the ball this season and establish herself alongside the international stars in the competition.
Phoebe Brett
Still very young, Phoebe Brett represented the England Under-19 team earlier this year in Malaysia. She plays for Warwickshire and took six wickets in five matches during the recently concluded Women’s T20 Blast. With her off-spin and disciplined line and length, Brett has the potential to be a valuable asset, and she may soon get the opportunity to make her mark in this global league.
