Skipper Nat Sciver-Brunt and Alexa Stonehouse powers Trent Rockets to back-to-back victories

London Spirit led by skipper Heather Knight defeated Manchester Originals led by skipper Sophie Ecclestone by eight wickets at Lord’s, London in the 23rd match of the season. Southern Brave led by skipper Georgia Adams were up against Trent Rockets led by skipper Nat Sciver-Brunt at The Rose Bowl, Southampton in the 24th match of the season.

The Southern Brave skipper Georgia Adams won the toss and opted to field first in Southampton. After being inserted to bat first, Trent Rockets got off to a poor start as they lost the wicket of their opening batter Bryony Smith on the first ball of the innings, for a golden duck as she was found short of her crease. Wicket-keeper batter Natasha Wraith joined Grace Scrivens at the crease and the duo stitched a much-needed 28-run partnership for the 2nd wicket to lead some sort of a recovery for their side.

Lauren Cheatle cleaned up the wicket-keeper batter Natasha Wraith to provide the 2nd breakthrough for Southern Brave. Skipper Nat Sciver-Brunt joined Grace Scrivens at the crease and the duo stitched a massive 62-run partnership for the third wicket to take their side closer to the 100-run mark.

Chloe Tryon picked up the wicket of Grace Scrivens to provide the much-needed 3rd breakthrough for her side. Ashleigh Gardner joined skipper Nat Sciver-Brunt at the crease and the duo stitched a 33-run partnership for the 4th wicket to take their side in a solid position. Heather Graham joined skipper Nat Sciver-Brunt at the crease and the duo stitched a 24-run partnership for the 5th wicket to take their side close to the 150-run mark. Skipper Georgia Adams was found short of her crease to provide the 3rd breakthrough for Trent Rockets.

Heather Graham picked up the wicket of Smriti Mandhana to provide the 4th breakthrough for her side. Southern Brave was eventually restricted to 131/6 in their quota of 100 deliveries, falling short of the target by 24 runs.
