London Spirit and Southern Brave have clashed twice before in the competition, with the Brave emerging victorious in both encounters. In this edition, the Spirit’s games have been marred by rain and abandoned, while the Brave have won two out of their three matches, suffering one loss.

Squads:

London Spirit – Heather Knight (C), Amelia Kerr, Charlie Dean, Danielle Gibson, Grace Harris, Sarah Glenn, Sophie Munro, Sophie Luff, Grace Scrivens, Tara Norris, Niamh Holland, Richa Ghosh, Lauren Filer, Chloe Hill, Alice Monaghan

Southern Brave – Smriti Mandhana, Lauren Bell, Maia Bouchier, Freya Kemp, Danni Wyatt, Anya Shrubsole (C), Chloe Tryon, Maitlan Brown, Georgia Adams, Rhianna Southby, Danielle Gregory, Kalea Moore, Seren Smale, Ellie Anderson, Mary Taylor

Players to watch out:

Richa Ghosh

The 19-year-old Indian keeper-batter has played 30 Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) and scored 563 runs at a strike rate of 133.41, with a highest score of 47*. Richa had a decent Women’s Premier League season, contributing with scores of 28, 29, 31*, and the best of 37. She will be determined to register big numbers in The Hundred and make a strong case for her place back in the India XI.

Charlie Dean

The 22-year-old spinner in 11 T20I bowling innings has struck 17 wickets at an economy rate of 6.81 and has also been handy with the bat. Dean was part of the senior English squad for the Women’s Ashes and had a decent series while continuing to impress with both bat and ball in domestic games. Although Dean is yet to make a significant impact in The Hundred, having scalped just 6 wickets in 14 games, she’ll be looking for a big season this season.

Chloe Tryon

The 29-year-old South African all-rounder has scored 1036 runs in 70 innings at a strike rate of 137.21, and she has also registered 27 wickets in 55 innings. Tryon featured in both the CE Cup and Rachael Heyhoe Flint (RHF) Trophy games this season and put on several impressive performances. In the previous couple of seasons at The Hundred, Tryon repeatedly failed to perform, but this season has started off brilliantly, scalping 3 wickets and scoring 44 runs in 3 games.

Lauren Bell

The 22-year-old pacer has had a brilliant summer at the cricket this year, scalping 14 wickets across formats during the Women’s Ashes. Carrying on her excellent form to The Hundred, Bell, who’s ranked 2nd on the leading wicket-takers list, got her season underway with impressive figures of 1/14 (20 balls). In the Charlotte Edwards (CE) Cup as well, Bell impressed, producing 6 wickets in 3 games.

Pitch:

The Lord’s Cricket Ground provides a well-balanced wicket, one that pleases both batters and bowlers. The 22-yard strip offers enough assistance to pacers, as a result, the average score at the venue tends to be around the 130s, indicating that it is not too high-scoring.

Weather:

With the forecast showing a high chance of rain and showers expected during match hours, there could likely be delayed starts and interruptions during the game. The temperature is forecasted to be around 17°C, with humidity at 84% and light winds.
