Thailand captain Sornnarin Tippoch again won the toss but this time put Bangladesh women in to bat.
Both the opening bowlers supported the decision, kept it tight & picked up 1 wickets each. Bangladesh Women were 8 for 2 in 5.1 overs. Not a start Bangladesh would have expected.
Runs were difficult to come, but Sanjida Islam & Fargana Hoque of Bangladesh, held on to their wickets and brought up the team score to 50 in the 14th over. But Suleeporn Laomi drew an edge off Sanjida on a score of 38 off 48 (1×4). Bangladesh Women were 50 for 3 off 14.1 overs.
Bangladesh were finding it difficult to score from there, no real partnership come along, lost 2 wickets on the score of 62 & then the 6th wicket on 74.
Bangladesh Women could manage a total of only 88 runs of the allotted 20 overs loosing 6 wickets.
Thailand Women did not start very well either. Captain Jahanara Alam picking up wickets of Chanida Sutthiruang & Nattaya Boochatham (both went for a 1st ball duck) on the 3rd & 4th balls in the very 1st over & was on a Hat-trick.
Next Batter Sirintra Saegsakaorat, prevented the hattrick but was not able to score & was picked by Rumana Ahmed in the 6th over at a team score of 23. At this stage Bangladesh had just reached double figures.
Opener Nattakan Chantam was going well with her bat, but Khadija beat her defenses & disturbed her stumps. Nattakan was on 21 off 23 (2×4). Thailand 29/4 now off 6.4 overs.
Thailand couldn’t recover from there and lost all their remaining 6 wickets in just 24 runs in the next 12 overs. Thailand were all-out on 53 off 18.3 overs
Panna Ghosh picked up 4 & captain Rumana picked 3 for 9 runs & 5 runs respectively.
Sanjida Islam was declared Player of the Match for her batting effort.
