1st innings: Barmy Army – 147/4 (20.0)

Batting first, the side lost a couple of early wickets with just 13 on board as skipper Lauren Winfield-Hill (5-ball 1) and Roberta Avery (9-ball 1) departed cheaply. Kavisha Egodage and Deandra Dottin’s mature partnership bailed the side out of early trouble and positioned Barmy Army on the front foot. The 85-run stand came to an end in the 14th over with Kavisha departing on 24(36), and in the following over, Dottin’s carnage too had curtains drawn on the score of 75(38).

With both set batters back in the shed, Barmy Army didn’t finish the way would have liked to as Keenu Gill and Shemaine Campbelle managed respective scores of 15(22) and 16(13) that only ticked the sides’ total to 147. Spirit with the ball had Mahika Gaur lead the wickets chart with figures of 1/12 of 4 and had Gargi Bhogle and Natthakan Chantham follow with a wicket each to their name.

2nd innings: Spirit – 125/6 (20.0)

The side in reply had openers, Natthakan Chantham and Sarah Bryce lay a decent 28-run opening wicket stand that came to an end with the former departing on 10(10), and Naruemol Chaiwai, with a 2-ball duck to her name, departed shortly after. Bryce then shared a crucial 32-run stand alongside Gargi before departing on 25(27) and it wasn’t long before the latter too departed for 25. Kerry-Anne Tomlinson and Nicola Carey when looked set to revive the run chase, Nicola on 8(6) was run out with 83 on board in the 15th over.

Yasmin Daswani then accompanied Kerry, but the two failed to get runs at the required rate, and in the 19th over, Kerry departed on 33(40). The Spirit fell 22 short in their chase, and Yasmin finished unbeaten on 15(12) with Mahika Gaur (5* off 3) on the other end. Barmy Army in the wickets column had Laura Cardoso (2/31 of 4), Kavisha (1/15 of 2), and Rumana Ahmed (1/33 of 4) feature.

Result: Barmy Army won by 22 runs

Both Barmy Army and the Spirit peaked early in the tournament but failed to carry on their momentum as the two failed to win their respective Semi-Finals. While Barmy Army sealed the 3rd spot to finish on a high, Nicola Carey led Spirit finish on a disappointing 4th.
