In Group A, the ‘A’-sides of India and Pakistan hold the top two positions with 3 points each. India is placed 1st, while Pakistan is positioned 2nd. Both teams emerged victorious in their opening matches, but their most recent games were unfortunately abandoned due to rain.

Squads:

India A – Shweta Sehrawat (C), Soumya Tiwari (VC), Kanika Ahuja, B Anusha, Uma Chetry (WK), Parshavi Chopra, Kashvee Gautam, Mannat Kashyap, Trisha Gongadi, Mamatha Madiwala (WK), Muskan Malik, Shreyanka Patil, Titas Sadhu, Soppadhandi Yashasri

Pakistan A – Fatima Sana (C), Najiha Alvi, Yusra Amir, Lubna Behram, Eyman Fatima, Gull Feroza, Gulrukh, Tuba Hassan, Anoosha Nasir, Natalia Parvaiz, Syeda Aroob Shah, Sadaf Shamas, Umm-e-Hani, Shawaal Zulfiqar

Players to watch out:

Shreyanka Patil

The 20-year-old spin all-rounder on the back of a notable stint with the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the inaugural edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) made it to the India A squad and on debut produced stellar bowling figures of 5/2.

Mannat Kashyap

The 19-year-old spinner featured for the India U19 side at the inaugural U19 World Cup and enjoyed an impressive campaign. Mannat continues to impress, now at the Emerging Asia Cup registering figures of 2/2.

Shawaal Zulfiqar

The 17-year-old batter was part of the Pakistan contingent that toured South Africa for the U19 World Cup earlier this year. Shawaal too had an impressive campaign and now makes a name for herself during the Emerging Asia Cup scoring a fine 28 in the opener.

Umm-e-Hani

The 26-year-old spinners’ lone international game for Pakistan had come in the One-Day Internationals in 2022. Umm-e-Hani has been economical with the ball, and at the Emerging Asia Cup has looked no different, recording figures of 1/10 (4).

Pitch:

The center wicket heavily favors the pacers, creating ideal conditions for bowling, as evident from the average score in the 110s. However, batters with good tactical skills and shot selection can still score runs effectively.

Weather:

With thundershowers on the radar, there is a high probability of rain interruptions during the game that could result in the loss of overs. The temperature is expected to be around 29°C, with light winds and humidity of 82%.
