Western Province Women produced a composed run chase to defeat Titans Women by five wickets, with 89 balls remaining, in the seventh match of the CSA Women’s Pro50 Series in Pretoria on October 24, 2026. After restricting Titans Women to 135 in 32.3 overs, Western Province Women reached 138/5 in 35.1 overs, with Lara Goodall anchoring the chase through an unbeaten 58. The victory was built on disciplined bowling, timely breakthroughs and a steady batting effort that ensured Western Province remained in control despite losing wickets at regular intervals.

Titans Women’s innings began with Miane Smit and Luyanda Nzuza attempting to establish a platform. Smit scored seven off 28 deliveries, striking one four, before Kayla Reyneke dismissed her to leave Titans at 29/1 in 7.5 overs. Nzuza, meanwhile, showed greater intent, scoring 32 off 49 balls with four boundaries and a six. However, Sune Luus was dismissed for a duck in the following over, trapped lbw by Reyneke, leaving Titans under early pressure at 29/2 after 7.6 overs.
Nzuza continued to fight back alongside Caitlin Wyngaard, and the pair helped rebuild the innings with a valuable partnership. Nzuza’s resistance ended at 79/3 in 18.4 overs when she was run out by Oluhle Siyo. Wyngaard then took responsibility for keeping the innings moving, playing the most productive knock for Titans Women. She scored 40 off 45 deliveries, including eight fours, and provided the innings with much-needed stability. However, her dismissal at 95/4 in 21.1 overs, caught and bowled by Delmi Tucker, halted the progress Titans had made.
Anneke Bosch, the Titans captain, contributed 16 off 14 balls, including two fours and a six, but could not turn her start into a substantial score. Siyo dismissed Bosch at 104/6 in 25.4 overs, with de Ridder completing the catch. In between, Masabata Klaas managed two runs before being bowled by Sinelethu Yaso, leaving Titans struggling to build a competitive total.
The lower order offered little resistance against Western Province’s disciplined attack. Eliz-Mari Marx scored three before Leah Jones bowled her at 119/7 in 28.4 overs. Simone Lourens remained unbeaten on 14 from 19 deliveries, striking two fours, but wickets continued to fall around her. Julia Hoal made five before being run out by Jones, while A Mgwenya scored four off four balls before being caught and bowled by Jones. Paulinah Mashishi was dismissed for a first-ball duck, also bowled by Jones, completing Titans’ innings at 135 in 32.3 overs. The final wickets fell at 130 and 135, as the innings ended without Titans being able to use their remaining batting resources.
Reyneke was the pick of the Western Province bowlers, returning figures of 2/12 in four overs, including a maiden. Jones claimed 3/17 in 5.3 overs, while Yaso took 1/17 in five overs, including two maidens. Tucker finished with 1/22, and Siyo picked up 1/20 while also contributing to a run-out. Miya Lalor conceded 16 runs in three overs without taking a wicket, while Faye Tunnicliffe gave away nine runs in three overs. N Vezi Kbw conceded 21 runs in three overs, and the bowling effort was supported by ten wides and one no-ball among Titans’ 12 extras.
Western Province Women’s chase began with Goodall and Tunnicliffe providing a steady start. Tunnicliffe scored 21 off 29 deliveries, hitting three fours, before being run out by Luus at 29/1 in 7.6 overs. Goodall remained composed at the other end, building her innings patiently and ensuring the required target never became difficult to manage. Mieke de Ridder contributed six off 22 balls before Nzuza dismissed her caught and bowled at 54/2 in 14.2 overs.
Delmi Tucker then added 14 from 22 deliveries, striking two boundaries, but her innings ended at 80/3 in 21.5 overs when she was caught and bowled by Mashishi. Captain Leah Jones scored nine off ten balls, including two fours, before Luus took another wicket at 93/4 in 24.3 overs. Yandiswa Mangele was dismissed for a five-ball duck, caught by Wyngaard off Luus, leaving Western Province at 97/5 in 26.2 overs and giving Titans a brief opportunity to fight back.
Goodall, however, ensured there was no late collapse. She combined with Kayla Reyneke to steady the innings and guide Western Province towards the target. Reyneke remained unbeaten on 19 off 32 balls, hitting two fours, while Goodall finished on 58 not out from 91 deliveries, including six boundaries. Their unbroken partnership carried Western Province across the line at 138/5 in 35.1 overs, sealing a five-wicket win with 89 balls to spare.
Titans’ bowlers had limited success despite several economical spells. Luyanda Nzuza took 1/13 in four overs, while Paulinah Mashishi claimed 1/37 in 8.1 overs. Sune Luus made the biggest impact with 2/12 in five overs, accounting for Jones and Mangele. Eliz-Mari Marx conceded 19 runs in three overs, Klaas gave away just nine in four overs, and Wyngaard finished with 19 runs conceded in six overs. A Mgwenya returned 0/14 in three overs, while Miane Smit conceded nine runs in two overs. Although Titans managed five wickets, they could not prevent Goodall and Reyneke from completing the chase.
The result highlighted Western Province Women’s all-round performance in the CSA Women’s Pro50 Series. Their bowlers kept Titans to a modest total, and Goodall’s unbeaten half-century provided the foundation for a comfortable victory. For Titans Women, Wyngaard’s 40 and Nzuza’s 32 were the standout contributions, but the regular loss of wickets prevented them from setting a more challenging target. Western Province’s five-wicket win in Pretoria was ultimately a result of their greater consistency with both bat and ball.
