Playing in familiar home conditions has allowed Argentina to execute their plans well, and they will once again look to put Canada under pressure from the very beginning. Canada Women, however, still have plenty to play for despite the recent defeats. The visitors have shown flashes of quality with both bat and ball but have struggled to finish key moments in the game.

Squads:

Argentina Women’s Cricket Team

Veronica Vasquez, Maria Castineiras, Albertina Galan, Julieta Cabal Cullen, Alina Emch, Maria Mastrangelo, Malena Lollo (WK), Milagros Bestani (WK), Constanza Sosa, Tamara Basile, Francesca Galan, Maria Lehmann

Canada Women’s Cricket Team

Vritti Dahiya, Hasini Santhoshkumar, Maren Couch, Khadeeja Fatima, Rabbjyot Rajput (C), Neha Teny, Rameen Rashid, Elyssa Sun (WK) Harper Chalmers, Namrit Dhillon, Prakriti Jaiswal, Snigdha Malhotra

Players to watch out:

Maria Lehmann

Maria Lehmann has been one of Argentina’s standout performers throughout the series. She was named Player of the Match in the opening T20I after producing excellent bowling figures of 2/10, while also making an important contribution with the bat during the chase. Her ability to deliver in pressure situations has made her one of the team’s most dependable all-round performers. Argentina will once again expect her to make an impact in both departments.

Clara Valencia

Clara Valencia played the match-winning role in the second T20I with a brilliant spell of 3/15, earning the Player of the Match award. She removed Canada’s top-order batters and never allowed them to build momentum during the innings. Her disciplined line and length have troubled the opposition throughout the series. Another strong bowling display from Valencia could once again put Argentina in a commanding position.

Achini Perera

Achini Perera has been Canada’s brightest batting performer during the tour. She scored 11 in the first T20I before following it with an unbeaten 45 in the second match, carrying the batting almost single-handedly. She has looked comfortable against both pace and spin and has shown the patience needed on difficult batting surfaces. Canada will need another responsible innings from her if they want to post a competitive score.

Shreya Voya

Shreya Voya showed her quality in the first T20I when she produced outstanding figures of 4/4, almost guiding Canada to victory with one of the best spells of the series. Although she could not repeat that performance in the second game, she remains Canada’s biggest wicket-taking threat with the new ball. Her ability to swing the ball and dismiss top-order batters makes her a player Argentina cannot afford to underestimate.

Pitch:

The St George’s College Ground in Buenos Aires has continued to offer a surface that slightly favours the bowlers in the shortest format. Batters usually need to spend some time at the crease before playing attacking shots because the pitch does not always allow easy stroke-making during the early overs. Fast bowlers often enjoy movement with the new ball, while the spinners become more effective as the wicket slows down later in the innings.

Weather:

Temperatures are expected to remain between 14°C and 18°C, creating pleasant playing conditions throughout the day. Skies are likely to stay mostly clear with plenty of sunshine, while the possibility of rain remains very low.
