Canada Name Squad for East Africa Tours of Uganda and Tanzania, Amarpal Kaur to Lead

The Canada Women’s Cricket Team has formally revealed their teams for two important upcoming tours in East Africa. They will play Tanzania Women in a series after first facing Uganda Women at Lugogo Cricket Oval in Kampala. In the development of Canada’s standing in Women’s T20 International cricket, these tours represent a significant turning point.

Since making their international debut in 2006, Canada’s women’s team has improved steadily over the past 20 years. The team has won the ICC Americas Championship several times in 2007, 2009, and 2012, and has a strong history of competing in regional ICC Americas events. Their international T20 cricket career started more recently; since July 2018, their matches have been held international status, allowing them to gradually develop their skills and experience.

Between 2019 and 2025, the Canada Women’s Cricket Team participated in 21 T20 International matches, recording a fairly even record of 11 victories and 10 defeats. They have the ability to score competitive totals, as evidenced by their highest team score in this format of 134 runs.

Despite some inconsistent outcomes, Canada Women’s recent performance has been encouraging. They displayed tenacity and skill in crucial games as they placed second to the United States in the 2025 Americas Qualifier. Their competitive games throughout 2025 demonstrated the squad management’s emphasis on tactical adaptability and team cohesion.

Canada has a well-rounded squad that can score well and handle pressure at crucial times.
