Australia Women completed an eight-wicket win over Bangladesh Women in the third ODI at Allan Border Field in Brisbane on October 14, 2026. After choosing to bowl first, the hosts dismissed Bangladesh for 172 in 49.5 overs. Australia reached 175/2 in 22.4 overs, with 164 balls remaining. Ellyse Perry and Annabel Sutherland guided the chase with unbeaten half-centuries. Megan Schutt received both the Player of the Match and Player of the Series awards.

Bangladesh struggled early as Murshida Khatun scored one from eight balls and Sarmin Sultana made six from 21. Megan Schutt dismissed both openers, then removed captain Nigar Sultana for three from 14 deliveries. Bangladesh were 18/3, leaving the middle order needing to rebuild. Schutt maintained control, taking four wickets for 16 runs in 10 overs, including five maidens. Her performance put Australia ahead in the first innings.
Sharmin Akhter provided resistance with 50 from 93 balls, including eight fours. She tried to hold the innings together as wickets fell at the other end. Sobhana Mostary added nine from 24 deliveries before Schutt dismissed her. Sharmin was caught by Nicola Carey off Ellyse Perry, leaving Bangladesh five down for 99. Shorna Akter then took responsibility for adding runs and kept the innings moving with support.
Shorna scored 54 from 71 balls, hitting four fours, and became Bangladesh’s other half-centurion. Ritu Moni contributed nine from 21 deliveries, while Rabeya Khan scored 13 from 16 balls. Annabel Sutherland dismissed Shorna through a stumping by Beth Mooney, while Ashleigh Gardner removed Ritu and Sultana Khatun. Disha Biswas remained unbeaten on 13 from 26 balls, but Bangladesh were bowled out for 172 in 49.5 overs. Extras added nine runs: three leg-byes and six wides.
Schutt led the Australian attack with four wickets, while Sutherland and Gardner took two each. Perry and Alana King picked up one wicket apiece. Sutherland finished with 2/25 from six overs, Gardner returned 2/49 in 9.5 overs, Perry took 1/10 in five overs, and King claimed 1/16 in five. Kim Garth conceded 37 runs in 10 overs without a wicket, while Nicola Carey gave away 16 runs in four overs. Australia needed 173 to win.
Australia’s chase started briskly, but Georgia Voll fell for 11 from six balls, lbw to Sultana Khatun. Beth Mooney made 21 from 14 deliveries before Disha Biswas bowled her, leaving Australia at 38/2. Those wickets offered Bangladesh an opening, but Perry and Sutherland settled at the crease. They rotated the strike and found boundaries regularly, keeping the chase under control as their partnership grew. Their steady approach took the game away from Bangladesh.
Perry finished unbeaten on 65 from 64 balls, with eight fours, while Sutherland made 74 not out from 52 deliveries, striking 12 fours. Their third-wicket partnership added 137 runs and carried Australia past the target. Sutherland reached her half-century from 43 balls, while Perry brought up hers from 56 deliveries. Australia completed the chase at 175/2 in 22.4 overs, winning by eight wickets with 164 balls left. The hosts scored at 7.72 runs per over, compared with Bangladesh’s 3.45.
The win gave Australia two points in the ICC Women’s Championship, while Bangladesh finished with none. Schutt’s early breakthroughs made it difficult for Bangladesh to build a bigger total, despite half-centuries from Sharmin and Shorna. Perry and Sutherland then turned the chase into a comfortable finish with their unbeaten stand. Disha Biswas made her ODI debut for Bangladesh and took one wicket during Australia’s innings. Schutt’s four-wicket effort and the partnership of Perry and Sutherland proved decisive in the third ODI.
