The hosts, West Indies, followed their convincing 2-1 ODI series win with a dominant 3-0 whitewash in the Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) during their historic first-ever bilateral series against Bangladesh.

West Indies showcased their dominance in the 2nd T20I, courtesy to Qiana Joseph’s explosive 36-ball 63 and Deandra Dottin’s rapid 20-ball 49, which powered the hosts to their 2nd highest T20I total of 201/6. Cherry-Ann Fraser, Zaida James, and skipper Hayley Matthews bagged two wickets each, restricting Bangladesh to 95/9, securing the series and Windies’ biggest T20I win by 106 runs.
Put into bat first in the 3rd T20I, Bangladesh’s openers, Dilara Akter and Murshida Khatun, started positively, putting together 24 runs in 3.3 overs. However, Jannillea Glasgow provided the breakthrough by dismissing Khatun for 13 (12). Shortly after, Glasgow struck again, removing Akter for 21. As Sharmin Akter’s struggles ended early with her dismissal for 6 (10), Bangladesh found themselves three down for 48 after the powerplay.
Skipper Nigar Sultana Joty once again came to Bangladesh’s rescue, scoring a crucial 33 (43) before being run out on the final ball of the innings. Despite minimal support from the other end, as Tej Nahar (10), Lata Mondol (5), Shorna Akter (3), and Fahima Khatun (7) all fell cheaply, brief partnerships allowed Bangladesh to post a competitive total of 104, for the loss of 8 wickets.
Glasgow led the West Indies bowling attack with impressive figures of 3/15 from her 4 overs, while Zaida James, Ashmini Munisar, and Afy Fletcher picked up a wicket each. Notably, stand-in skipper Karishma Ramharack, although wicketless, was highly economical, conceding just 19 runs in her 4 overs.
In reply, West Indies lost Nerissa Crafton (5) early in the chase, with Sultana Khatun making an immediate impact. Glasgow then joined opener Djenaba Joseph, and the pair cautiously almost saw off the powerplay overs. However, Bangladesh’s disciplined bowling was rewarded with the dismissal of Joseph (10). The in-form Deandra Dottin then joined a well-set Glasgow, guiding the team past the 50-run mark in the 10th over.
Shortly after, Rabeya Khan dismissed Dottin for 10 (12), and three balls later, Sultana Khatun sent Glasgow packing for 25 off 28. Mandy Mangru’s dismissal for 1 in the following over saw the West Indies crumble to 5/61, as Bangladesh turned what appeared to be a one-sided contest into a tightly fought game. Fahima Khatun (2/14 off 4) and Sultana Khatun (2/30 off 4) led the charge, supported by Rabeya (1/12 off 4) and Fariha Trisna (0/20 off 3.3).
Nonetheless, with the required net run rate always within reach, Shabika Gajnabi (27*) and Zaida James (14*) put together a composed 44-run partnership, steering the Windies to victory with 9 balls and 5 wickets to spare, completing a whitewash in their first-ever T20I series against Bangladesh.
