Captain Hilva Lukman Leads Indonesia Women U19 to DLS Win Over Kuwait

Captain Hilva Nuraulia Siami Lukman produced a composed all-round batting display as Indonesia U19 began their ACC Women’s U19 Premier Cup 2026 campaign with a 29-run (DLS) victory over Kuwait U19 after rain brought an early end to the chase at the Selangor Turf Club in Kuala Lumpur. Put to bat first after losing the toss, Indonesia recovered from an early collapse to post a competitive 134/5 in, before restricting Kuwait to 29/3 in nine overs when persistent rain halted play. At that stage, Kuwait were well behind the DLS par score, handing Indonesia a comfortable victory.

Indonesia’s innings got off to the worst possible start as Meutia Diaz Sanjoyo was bowled by Candice Jerica for 6(5), while wicketkeeper Ni Putu Elyn Novita Dewi managed just 1(9). Reduced to 9/2 inside 3 overs, Indonesia were under pressure before captain Hilva and Anace Elna Elizabeth rebuilt the innings. The pair stitched together the defining partnership of the innings, adding 65 runs from 60 deliveries.

Hilva anchored the recovery with a fluent 41(36), striking 6 boundaries, while Anace complemented her perfectly with 27(31) including 3 fours. Their stand lifted Indonesia from early trouble to 74/3 before Anace was dismissed by Zeefa Jilani in the 13th over. Hilva continued to score freely before becoming the fourth wicket to fall for 41, caught by Angel Gabriella in the 15th over. Although Indonesia lost another wicket late when Ni Komang Sukmayanthi Kari Putri departed for 14(15), the lower order ensured there was no further collapse.

Ni Kadek Dwi Aprillia Putri played a valuable unbeaten hand of 17(24), while Derni Rambu Bangi remained not out on 2(2) as Indonesia finished on 134/5. The innings was also boosted by 26 extras, including 21 wides and two no-balls, which significantly added to the total. Kuwait shared the wickets among four bowlers. Angel Gabriella was the standout performer with 2/14 in 4 overs, maintaining excellent control throughout her spell. Raelyn Maria impressed with 1/13 from 3 overs, while Candice Jerica claimed 1/29 and Zeefa Jilani finished with 1/26.

Needing a strong start in reply, Kuwait instead found scoring extremely difficult against Indonesia’s disciplined bowling attack. Opener Zeefa Jilani scored 2(10) before becoming the first wicket to fall, trapped by Ni Kadek Dwi Aprillia Putri. Raelyn Maria managed 3(11) before being dismissed by Anace Elna Elizabeth, leaving Kuwait struggling at 16/2.

The pressure continued to mount as Angel Gabriella made 5(14) before being stumped off the bowling of Derni Rambu Bangi. At the time rain stopped play after nine overs, Pearl Serena was unbeaten 5(12), while captain Candice Jerica remained not out on 1(7). Kuwait’s batters found boundaries hard to come by, with the innings also containing 13 extras as they reached 29/3.

Indonesia’s bowlers delivered a collective performance with every bowler maintaining control. Ni Kadek Dwi Aprillia Putri returned outstanding figures of 1/3 from two overs, while Anace Elna Elizabeth picked up 1/5 from two overs. Derni Rambu Bangi also claimed a wicket, finishing with 1/8 in two overs, as Isabella Sirs conceded just 4 runs from her two overs. Ni Komang Sukmayanthi Kari Putri completed the attack with an economical over costing only 2 runs.

With Kuwait well behind the required DLS score when rain brought the contest to a premature end, Indonesia sealed a deserved 29-run victory. Captain Hilva’s crucial 41, the match defining 65-run partnership with Anace, and a disciplined bowling effort ensured Indonesia opened their ACC Women’s U19 Premier Cup campaign with an impressive all-round performance.
