McKeon is set to begin a new chapter in orange after spending the previous two seasons with Melbourne Stars. The promising young batter first attracted attention during her WBBL 10 debut, when she struck a rapid half-century against Perth Scorchers at the WACA Ground. Her return to Western Australia presents an opportunity to build on that early promise and establish herself in the shortest format of the game.

Peschel, meanwhile, returns to familiar surroundings after two seasons with Sydney Thunder. The fast bowler claimed 14 wickets across 16 innings during her stint with the Thunder, adding valuable experience to her game. Having previously represented Perth Scorchers in 73 matches, Peschel will be keen to make a strong contribution to the side’s bowling attack during WBBL 12.

Both players recently featured for Perth Scorchers in the Women’s T20 Spring Challenge, where the team narrowly missed out against eventual champions Sydney Sixers. Their participation provided an opportunity to reconnect with the franchise ahead of the upcoming season.

McKeon expressed her excitement about returning to Western Australia and continuing her development in a professional cricketing environment. She highlighted the importance of learning, improving her game and making the most of the opportunities that come her way. The young batter will hope to translate her potential into consistent performances as she takes on a fresh challenge with the Scorchers.

Peschel also welcomed the opportunity to represent her home team again, describing the return as a special moment. The experienced pacer will aim to contribute wherever required while helping the squad pursue its ambitions.

Perth Scorchers General Manager Kade Harvey backed both players to make valuable contributions to the team. He highlighted McKeon’s promising performances at the beginning of the Women’s National Cricket League season, describing her as a dynamic young player with considerable potential. The upcoming WBBL campaign is expected to provide her with further exposure to the T20 format and opportunities to continue developing her skills.

Harvey also emphasised Peschel’s familiarity with the Scorchers setup and the value of her experience. Her return strengthens a pace attack featuring Chloe Ainsworth and Ebony Hoskin, giving the team additional options as it prepares for a demanding campaign.

The completed 15-player Perth Scorchers WBBL 12 squad includes Chloe Ainsworth, Sophie Devine, Amy Edgar, Ebony Hoskin, Mikayla Friday, Freya Kemp, Alana King, Katie Mack, Ines McKeon, Lilly Mills, Beth Mooney, Chloe Piparo, Taneale Peschel, Fatima Sana and Ruby Strange.

With international stars, established performers and emerging talent in their ranks, Perth Scorchers will aim to turn their squad strength into a successful WBBL 12 campaign and compete for the championship trophy in the 2026/27 season.
