Megan Schutt Breaks into ODI Bowling Top Five as Georgia Voll Climbs Eight Places

Australia’s commanding 2-0 lead over Bangladesh in their first-ever bilateral women’s ODI series has produced significant movement in the latest ICC Women’s Player Rankings, with Ellyse Perry returning to the top 10 among ODI batters and Annabel Sutherland and Megan Schutt strengthening Australia’s grip on the bowling charts. The update also reflects West Indies’ clean sweep over Zimbabwe in the T20I series, where veteran Stafanie Taylor’s all-round brilliance earned her notable gains.

ODI Rankings:

Australia, led by stand-in captain Tahlia McGrath, have taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match ICC Women’s Championship series against Nigar Sultana Joty’s Bangladesh, played in Brisbane from 9 to 14 October 2026. Their strong performances have been rewarded in the rankings, with several players making upward moves. Annabel Sutherland was the standout performer in the opening ODI at Allan Border Field, claiming 4 for 30 before finishing unbeaten on 25 to guide Australia home. Her all-round display lifted her three places to 17th among ODI batters, while she also moved up one position to fourth in the bowling rankings.

Megan Schutt has been equally influential. After beginning Australia’s home summer with a wicket off the first ball of the series, she took 2 for 19 in the first ODI and followed it with 4 for 36 in the second. Those efforts propelled her two places to fifth among ODI bowlers, with Sutherland and Schutt now occupying fourth and fifth, respectively, behind their Australian teammate and rankings leader, leg-spinner Alana King.

Ellyse Perry’s return to the top 10 is another major storyline. Two successive unbeaten innings have taken her up two spots from 12th to 10th among ODI batters. Georgia Voll also made a significant jump, rising eight places to 28th after her century in the series. Bangladesh may be trailing 0-2, but their batters have gained valuable ground. Captain Nigar Sultana Joty climbed 11 places to joint 24th, while Sobhana Mostary rose 11 spots to joint 35th after useful contributions across the first two matches.

T20I Rankings Update:

The T20I rankings have been reshaped following West Indies’ 3-0 series victory over Zimbabwe, in what was Zimbabwe’s first home white-ball series against the Caribbean side. The tour, held in Harare from 24 September to 7 October, also featured West Indies’ 2-1 ODI series win. Stafanie Taylor was the biggest mover after a Player-of-the-Match performance in the series finale. Her explosive unbeaten 64 from 39 balls helped West Indies complete the sweep and lifted her seven places to joint 40th among T20I batters. She also surged 29 places to 39th in the all-rounder rankings.

Taylor finished the T20I series with 74 runs and three wickets, and her milestone-laden campaign saw her become only the fourth woman to achieve the double of 3,000 runs and 100 wickets in T20I cricket. Despite the 3-0 defeat, Zimbabwe found reasons for encouragement. Kelis Ndhlovu improved five places to 67th among T20I batters, while Beloved Biza climbed 10 spots to joint 45th in the all-rounder rankings, offering the hosts positives to build on ahead of future assignments, particularly against India.

With Australia poised to complete a series whitewash against Bangladesh and West Indies having asserted their superiority in Zimbabwe, the latest rankings underline the growing depth and competitiveness in women’s white-ball cricket.
