The 3rd T20I between West Indies Women and Zimbabwe Women in Harare showcased a thrilling contest filled with standout individual performances and tactical bowling spells.

Taking first strike, Zimbabwe Women got off to a steady start with openers Kelis Ndhlovu and Beloved Biza laying down a solid foundation. Biza struck a brisk 21 off 16 balls, featuring four boundaries, before Shawnisha Hector provided the initial break for the visitors by having her caught. Her departure left Zimbabwe at 27/1 in 3.4 overs. Shortly after, Chipo Mugeri-Tiripano was stumped off Stafanie Taylor for 7 off 12 deliveries, reducing Zimbabwe to 40/2 in 6.4 overs.
Despite losing early partners, opener Kelis Ndhlovu anchored the innings brilliantly. She was joined by wicketkeeper-batter Chiedza Dhururu, and the pair constructed a crucial 39-run partnership to stabilize the innings. Dhururu scored a patient 9 off 20 balls before being trapped lbw by Stafanie Taylor, making the score 79/3 at 13.1 overs. Nyasha Gwanzura fell next for 3 off 5 balls, caught by Jahzara Claxton off Chinelle Henry’s bowling at 90/4 in 14.4 overs.
Undeterred, Ndhlovu continued her aggressive assault, bringing up a top-scoring 63 off 48 balls with six boundaries and three sixes. She put together a rapid 40-run stand with Christine Mutasa, who contributed an unbeaten 24 off 19 deliveries. Ndhlovu’s brilliant knock finally ended at 130/5 when Claxton got her caught by Hector in the 19th over. Late-order hitter Michelle Mavunga smashed a quickfire six (6 off 2 balls) before being bowled by Claxton, leaving Loryn Phiri (1 not out) and Mutasa to see out the full 20 overs, posting 142/6 on the board.
The West Indies bowling attack displayed great discipline throughout the innings. Veteran spinner Stafanie Taylor was the standout bowler, stifling the middle order with exceptionally tight figures of 2/8 from her 4 overs, including a maiden. Jahzara Claxton picked up 2 wickets for 35 runs in her 4 overs, while Chinelle Henry (1/26 in 3 overs) and Shawnisha Hector (1/20 in 3 overs) kept the scoring rate managed. Karishma Ramharack (0/36 in 4 overs) and Afy Fletcher (0/15 in 2 overs) both went wicketless but completed their overs effectively.
Chasing a target of 143, West Indies Women suffered an early setback when opener Realeanna Grimmond was clean-bowled by Christine Mutasa for 17 off 13 balls (3 fours) with the scoreboard reading 19/1 in 2.4 overs. However, Jahzara Claxton and Stafanie Taylor completely took charge of the run chase with a dominant 71-run partnership for the second wicket. Claxton played an excellent supporting role with 38 off 37 balls (8 fours) before Beloved Biza broke the stand by bowling her at 90/2 in 11.6 overs.
Stafanie Taylor remained in total control, pacing the chase with supreme authority. She blasted an undefeated 64 off just 39 deliveries, laced with 11 boundaries, alongside Jannillea Glasgow, who remained unbeaten on 15 off 15 balls (2 fours). Together, they shared an unbroken 53-run third-wicket partnership to comfortably cross the finish line, ending on 143/2 in 17 overs to secure an 8-wicket win with 18 balls to spare.
The Zimbabwe bowling attack struggled to keep the West Indian batters at bay. Christine Mutasa was the most economical of the options, taking 1/19 in her 3 overs, while Beloved Biza finished as the only other wicket-taker with 1/28 from her full quota of 4 overs. Tendai Makusha (0/16 in 2 overs), Nyasha Gwanzura (0/15 in 2 overs), Kudzai Chigora (0/18 in 2 overs), Nomvelo Sibanda (0/21 in 2 overs), Loryn Phiri (0/11 in 1 over), and Michelle Mavunga (0/14 in 1 over) were all unable to break the opposition’s momentum as the Caribbean side cruised to victory.
