The CSA Women Pro50 Series kicked off in sensational fashion in Cape Town as Western Province Women (WPR-W) delivered a masterclass in aggressive batting against Six Gun Grill Garden Route Badgers Women (SWD-W). Taking first strike, Western Province Women faced an early setback when opener Lara Goodall was dismissed for just 6 off 17 balls, falling to Zintle Kula in the 5th over with the score at 19/1. However, what followed was a record-shattering recovery that completely reshaped the match. Tunnicliffe played a sensational, dominating knock, smashing 171 runs off 131 balls, decorated with 19 boundaries and 5 towering sixes.
Complementing her brilliantly was Nadine de Klerk, who anchored the middle overs with a composed yet aggressive 101 off 108 deliveries, featuring 9 fours and 3 sixes. The monstrous stand was finally broken at 229/2 in the 37th over when de Klerk fell to Kiara Fisher. Unfazed by the breakthrough, Tunnicliffe continued her onslaught, joining hands with Delmi Tucker for a brisk 66-run third-wicket stand.
Tucker chipped in with a handy 17 off 20 balls before falling to Jané Winster. Tunnicliffe was eventually caught off Zintle Kula in the 49th over for a masterclass of 171. Reddy ground out 17 runs off 49 balls before being clean-bowled by Sinelethu Yaso.
De Leede continued her fightback, scoring a fluent 62 off 61 balls (6 fours, 1 six), before Yaso struck again to remove her with the team total at 107/3. Annerie Dercksen managed 8 before being caught off Oluhle Siyo, while A Dunga reached 12 before being trapped LBW by Kayla Reyneke. Du Preez eventually fell to Delmi Tucker at 158/6.
