Hampshire have signed pace-bowling all-rounder Eva Gray on a two-year deal. The 26-year-old joins from Essex, where she played 53 times over the past two seasons. She took 63 wickets and scored 239 runs across all competitions. Gray also won The Hundred with London Spirit in 2024. Her signing gives Hampshire another player who can contribute in both departments.

Gray said she is excited to join Hampshire after playing against the side. She knows the club as successful and is keen to learn from its players and staff. She praised the Utilita Bowl atmosphere and support for the women’s side. Gray hopes to contribute with both bat and ball and help Hampshire build on this year’s success.
“I’m really excited to be joining Hampshire. I’ve played a lot of cricket against them over the years, so I know they’re a very successful side with a fantastic group of players and staff who I’m really keen to learn from. The Utilita Bowl always has a great atmosphere and I’ve been really impressed by how the club supports its women’s side, which is hugely exciting to be a part of.
I’m looking forward to hopefully contributing with both bat and ball, and to building on this year’s success by helping the team bring home some silverware. I can’t wait to get started and to meet everyone properly in pre season,” said Eva Gray.
Gray began her career at Surrey, where she played from 2014-2022. She later played for South East Stars and Sunrisers in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy and Charlotte Edwards Cup. In 2026, she took 32 wickets across the One Day Cup and T20 Blast and scored 78 runs. Her career has given her experience across different domestic competitions and formats.
Hampshire Regional Director of Women’s Cricket Adam Carty welcomed Gray. He noted her ability to bowl in all three phases and take wickets across both white ball formats. Carty described her as a proven winner who likes to get into the battle. He said her ambition aligns with Hampshire’s hunger for continued progress. Gray will now bring that experience into her new team.

She’s a proven winner and has a nice habit for taking wickets across both white ball formats. Eva is one who likes to get into the battle, and her ambition for team success aligns well with our hunger for continued progress. I am delighted that Eva has decided to join our club,” said Adam Carty, Regional Director of Women’s Cricket.
