Winning the toss and inserting themselves into the contest, Warwickshire’s batting lineup suffered an absolute collapse, folding for just 55 runs in 18.3 overs. The innings started disastrously when Meg Austin fell for a duck on 0 runs from 6 balls, caught by wicketkeeper Kira Chathli off Kate Coppack at 1-2 in 0.6 overs. Amu Surenkumar managed 7 runs off 16 balls before being trapped lbw by Sune Luus, leaving the score at 2-10 in 3.5 overs.
Captain Katie George tried to steady the ship with 12 runs from 17 deliveries, putting up a minor resistance, but she became Coppack’s second victim, bowled at 5-28 in 8.4 overs. Surrey’s bowling attack was sensational, led heavily by Kate Coppack, who delivered figures of 7 overs, 1 maiden, 22 runs, and 5 crucial wickets at an economy rate of 3.14. Sune Luus provided exceptional control with 8 overs, 2 maidens, 19 runs, and 2 wickets at 2.37.
