India, led by skipper Harmanpreet Kaur, defeated Thailand, led by the stand-in skipper Thipatcha Putthawong, by 94 runs on 30th August 2026.
Indonesia skipper Ni Putu Ayu Nanda Sakarini won the toss and opted to bowl first. The Bangladeshi openers Dilara Akter and Juairiya Ferdous got their side off to a steady start with a 16-run opening stand. Ni Made Putri Suwandewi broke the stand, by sending Juairiya Ferdous back to the pavilion in the 3rd over of the innings to provide the first breakthrough for Indonesia.
Sobhana Mostary joined Dilara Akter at the crease, and the duo led the recovery with a much-needed 40-run stand for the 2nd wicket, which also took them past the 50-run mark. Ni Kadek Ariani broke the stand, by sending a well-set Dilara Akter (27 off 31 balls) back to the pavilion in the 10th over of the innings to provide the crucial 2nd breakthrough for her side.
Sobhana Mostary held up one end, forming decent partnerships of 26 runs alongside skipper Nigar Sultana Joty (10 off 11 balls), followed by another crucial 23-run stand for the 4th wicket, which also took them past the 100-run mark. Ni Luh Dewi landed a double blow by removing Sobhana Mostary (40 off 42 balls) and Ritu Moni for a golden duck in the 17th over of the innings to bring Indonesia back into the contest.
The 19-year-old youngster Shorna Akter (31* off 18 balls) took Bangladesh to a competitive total of 129/8 in their quota of 20 overs. Her knock included 3 boundaries and a maximum. Ni Kadek Ariani (4-0-28-3), Ni Luh Dewi (3-0-21-2), Ni Made Putri Suwandewi (3-0-13-1), Sofia Velic (3-0-21-1) and Dara A Laksmi Paramitha (3-0-19-0) were the top performers with the ball for Indonesia.
Chasing a decent total of 130, the Indonesian openers Rahmawati Pangestuti and Maria Corazon (12 off 13 balls) got them off to a promising start with a 19-run opening stand. Marufa Akter broke the stand, by sending Rahmawati Pangestuti (9 off 10 balls) back to the pavilion in the 3rd over of the run chase to provide the crucial and much-needed 1st breakthrough for Bangladesh.
The breakthrough not only applied the brakes on the scoring for the Indonesian batters but also triggered a collapse as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. The lower-order, particularly the last-wicket stand between Sang Maypriani and Dara A Laksmi Paramitha, showed some resilience before Indonesia were eventually bundled out for 58 with 15 balls to spare, falling 71 runs short of the target.
Nahida Akter (4-0-15-3), Marufa Akter (3-1-6-2), Sanjida Akter Meghla (3-1-11-1), and Fahima Khatun (3-0-9-1) were the top performers with the ball for Bangladesh. Nahida Akter was awarded the Player of the Match for her impressive spell (4-0-15-3) with the ball for her side, playing a crucial role alongside Shorna Akter in setting up a dominant performance for Bangladesh.
