Turkey Women produced a clinical all-round performance to defeat Czech Republic Women by eight wickets in the fifth match of Group A at the Women’s Continental Cup 2026 on August 27, 2026. The victory was set up by a disciplined bowling display that restricted Czech Republic to 64 in 13.3 overs before an aggressive chase, led by Duygu Teykildirım and Zehra Ender, saw Turkey reach 65/2 in just 5.5 overs. Czech Republic Women began their innings with Katerina Tesarikova and Erika Kuncova at the crease, but the opening partnership was broken at 11 when Tesarikova was dismissed by Ezgi Nur Kilic for six from 10 balls. Erika Kuncova followed soon after, bowled by Hacer Celik for four off six deliveries, leaving Czech Republic 16/2 after 4.1 overs. Rachel Pavlickova was unable to stay for long either, scoring four from nine balls before she was caught by Ercin off Kubra Canavarci. Chasing 65, Turkey Women immediately showed a completely different level of intent. The opening pair of Duygu Teykildirım and Hacer Celik put together 15 runs before Sowjanya Talamara struck in the third over. Celik was dismissed for seven from eight balls, bringing captain Kubra Canavarci to the crease. However, Turkey’s captain could not contribute with the bat, falling for a two-ball duck, again to Talamara. The two wickets came at 2.2 and 2.4 overs respectively, leaving Turkey at 15/2 and briefly giving Czech Republic a glimpse of an opportunity.
That opportunity disappeared almost immediately as Duygu Teykildirım took control of the chase alongside Zehra Ender. Teykildirım produced a superb unbeaten 27 from only 19 balls, striking four boundaries at a strike rate of 142.10. Ender was even more destructive, smashing an unbeaten 17 from eight deliveries at an extraordinary strike rate of 212.50, including two fours. The pair added an unbeaten 50-run partnership to take Turkey from 15/2 to 65/2 in just 3.1 overs, finishing the chase with remarkable speed.
Talamara was the standout bowler for Czech Republic, taking both Turkish wickets while conceding 13 runs from two overs. Desika Marikova-Moodley bowled one over for nine runs, while Viola Komeda conceded 17 from her over. Erika Kuncova gave away 12 runs in one over, Rachel Pavlickova conceded 12 from 0.5 overs, and the Czech bowlers also struggled with extras. Turkey’s total included 14 extras, consisting of 10 wides, two no-balls, one bye and one leg-bye.
