The Eagles Women produced a composed six-wicket victory over Rhinos Women in the Zimbabwe Women’s T20 Cup 2026 at Bulawayo Athletic Club on Wednesday, chasing down a modest target with 45 balls to spare. After Rhinos Women struggled to build momentum with the bat and were bowled out for 66 in 18.4 overs, Eagles Women kept their nerve during the chase and reached 67/4 in just 12.3 overs. Betty Mangencha was the standout performer with a patient 36 off 39 balls, while Runyararo Pasipandoya added an important 18 as the Eagles Women completed a comfortable win.

Rhinos Women’s innings began with Kelly Ndiraya and Melinda Kachingwe attempting to provide a steady platform. The opening partnership reached 12 before Kachingwe departed for just 1 off 3 balls, stumped by Vimbai Mutungwindu off Precious Marange. Ndiraya then found herself batting alongside Josephine Nkomo, and the pair tried to rebuild after the early setback. Ndiraya scored 17 from 28 deliveries, hitting two fours, but her innings ended at 27/2 when Munenyasha Mandizora removed her in the eighth over. The wicket brought Francisa Chipare to the crease, but her stay was extremely brief, as Mandizora struck again to dismiss her for a two-ball duck, leaving Rhinos Women at 27/3.
Josephine Nkomo and Portia Chihwai then attempted to steady the innings, adding 14 runs for the fourth wicket. Nkomo battled hard for her 18 off 38 balls, while Chihwai contributed 10 from 21 deliveries with one four. Their partnership helped Rhinos Women move beyond 40, but Chihwai fell at 41/4, caught by Munenyasha Mandizora off Precious Marange. Nkomo followed shortly afterwards at 42/5, bowled by Olinda Chare for 1, and Rhinos Women suddenly found themselves in deeper trouble.
The lower order could not provide the acceleration needed. Kay Ndiraya scored 1 before Chare struck again, while captain Ashley Munatswa was dismissed for 1, also by Chare, leaving Rhinos Women at 44/6. Hillary Marodza briefly lifted the scoring rate with an unbeaten-looking attacking approach, scoring 5 from five balls, including a four, but she was run out at 56/7. Whitney Bayana was then dismissed for 1 at 59/8, before Natalle Chikandinga and Florence Machona completed the innings. Chikandinga remained unbeaten on 2, while Machona fell for a duck, bowled by Christabel Chatonzwa. Rhinos Women were eventually bowled out for 66 in 18.4 overs, with 10 extras also contributing to their score.
The Eagles Women bowling attack was disciplined throughout. Olinda Chare was the most economical bowler, finishing with impressive figures of 4-0-7-2, while Precious Marange claimed 2/12 from four overs. Munenyasha Mandizora also picked up two wickets for 13 runs in her four overs. Mitchell Mavunga took 2/15 from three overs, while captain Christabel Chatonzwa returned 1/17 from 3.4 overs. The bowling effort ensured Rhinos Women never established a meaningful partnership and kept the required target within easy reach.
Eagles Women’s chase, however, did not begin in completely comfortable fashion. Vimbai Mutungwindu was dismissed for a four-ball duck at 1/1, caught by Hillary Marodza off Kay Ndiraya. Captain Christabel Chatonzwa also fell quickly, scoring a three-ball duck as Kelly Ndiraya and Francisa Chipare combined for the catch. At 2/2, the Eagles Women had given Rhinos Women a glimpse of an opportunity despite the small target.
Betty Mangencha, though, remained calm amid the early wickets. She found an able partner in Runyararo Pasipandoya, and the pair completely changed the complexion of the chase. Pasipandoya scored 18 from 25 balls, including two fours, while Mangencha continued to rotate the strike and punish loose deliveries. Their third-wicket partnership was worth 49 runs, taking Eagles Women from 2/2 to 51/3 and putting the chase firmly back under control. Pasipandoya eventually departed in the 11th over, caught by Josephine Nkomo off Whitney Bayana, but the damage had already been done.
With the target within touching distance, Mitchell Mavunga joined Mangencha and provided the finishing support. Mangencha was eventually run out for a well-made 36 off 39 balls, an innings that included five fours and proved decisive in the Eagles Women chase. By then, however, the required runs were almost complete. Mavunga remained unbeaten on 4 from five deliveries as Eagles Women reached 67/4 in 12.3 overs, securing a six-wicket victory.
Rhinos Women’s bowlers did manage to create early pressure, with Francisa Chipare taking 1/14 from three overs and Kay Ndiraya claiming 1/16 from 2.3 overs. Whitney Bayana also picked up 1/11 from three overs, while Ashley Munatswa bowled two overs for 10 runs without a wicket. Hillary Marodza and Natalle Chikandinga each bowled an over, conceding seven runs apiece. Ultimately, though, the lack of sustained pressure allowed Eagles Women to recover from 2/2 and complete a convincing chase.
