The Malaysian skipper Irdina Beh Nabil won the toss and opted to field first at YSD UKM Oval, Bangi. The Malaysian new-ball bowlers Suabika Manivannan and Aina Umaira Amin got them off to a dream start, removing both the in-form openers for a duck inside the first couple of overs in the innings. Vaishnave Mahesh joined skipper Samaira Dharnidharka at the crease and the duo stitched a much-needed 47-run partnership for the 3rd wicket.

Skipper Irdina Beh Nabil got the better of her opposite number Samaira Dharnidharka (17 off 28 balls) to provide the much-needed 3rd breakthrough for her side in the 11th over of the innings. Mehul Pranav Kulkarni (23 off 17 balls) joined Vaishnave Mahesh at the crease, and the duo stitched another crucial 34-run partnership for the 4th wicket, which took them closer to the 100-run mark.

Mohd Ikrimah provided the crucial breakthrough by dismissing Vaishnave Mahesh for 38 (45 balls) in the 16th over of the innings. The UAE eventually ended up with a decent total of 114/7 in their quota of 20 overs. Mehak Thakur (12* off 11 balls) was the only other batter to enter the double digits with the bat for her side. Suabika Manivannan (4-16-2), Aina Umaira Amin (4-12-1), Nurin Imanina Mohd Ikrimah (4-23-1) and Nur Qalysha Noreffendi (3-19-1) were the top performers with the ball for Malaysia.

Chasing a target of 115, the Malaysian top-order collapsed like a pack of nine pins, courtesy of an exceptional bowling display from the UAE bowlers. The Irdina Beh Nabil-led side were reduced to 45/7 in the 13th over of the run chase, staring at a massive defeat. Siti Hamra Mohd Sakri (29 off 22 balls) joined Suabika Manivannan (17 off 21 balls) at the crease, and the duo showed some character to keep the UAE bowlers at bay with a much-needed 30-run partnership for the 8th wicket.

Mehak Thakur justified skipper Samaira Dharnidharka’s call to turn to her with the ball, as she dismissed Suabika Manivannan in the 17th over of the innings to provide the 8th breakthrough for her side. Malaysia were eventually bundled out for 87, with four balls to spare, falling 27 runs short of the target. Vaishnave Mahesh (4-11-3), Janani Thirukkumaran (4-13-1), Samaira Dharnidharka (3.2-9-2), and AL Maseera Jahangir (4-22-2) were the top performers with the ball for the United Arab Emirates.

Vaishnave Mahesh was awarded the Player of the Match for her sensational all-round show, scoring a vital 38 (45 balls) coming in at number 4 under pressure, and returning with decisive match figures (4-11-3) with the ball for her side in the game, playing a pivotal role as the UAE sealed a comprehensive victory.
