India’s batting lineup paced their way to a total of 209/8 in their 50 overs. The defining anchor of the late recovery was Kumari Palak, who provided immediate acceleration by smashing an unbeaten 47 runs off 58 deliveries, including 4 boundaries. While Ishwari Awasare provided excellent stability with a well-made 39 off 52 balls, the middle and lower order sustained the pressure brilliantly.

Deeya Yadav anchored the top end with a solid 26 off 43 deliveries, well-supported by Vidhi H Parmar’s quick 24 off 34 balls, Deeksha Katragadda’s contribution of 21 runs off 32 balls, and Mahak Narwase’s 20 off 27 balls. Backed by a competitive performance, the Indian team set up a strong defense.

Sri Lanka U19 Women’s bowling unit fought hard to stem the run flow and managed to pick up timely breakthroughs. Leading the line with disciplined spells were Danodya Sewmini, who finished with figures of 2/38 from her 9 overs, and Pramudi Methsara, who picked up crucial breakthroughs to finish with 2/27 across her spell of 9 overs.

Chamodhi Herath chipped in to keep things competitive during her 9 overs by picking up 2/43, while Chamudi Praboda delivered a highly economical spell, conceding just 26 runs in her 10-over spell with a crucial breakthrough. Despite their consistent efforts, a fighting middle-to-lower-order stance helped India post a respectable total.

Sri Lanka U19 Women faced a steep hill to climb and were ultimately restricted to 160 all out in 41.2 overs. The pursuit was anchored in the middle order by Pramudi Methsara, who scored a brisk 42 off 27 deliveries with 6 boundaries and a six, alongside Limansa Thilakarathna, who fought hard for her 21 runs off 27 balls.

Chamudi Praboda contributed a score of 15 to keep the required run rate within sight, while Vimoksha Balasuriya struck a steady 14 off 28 balls. However, the Indian bowlers continuously turned the screws, triggering a costly lower-order slowdown that left the tail unable to push the game deep, sealing a comprehensive victory for India.

India U19 Women’s bowling attack rose to the challenge beautifully, defending their total with clinical execution. Leading the defense was Vidhi H Parmar, who choked the Sri Lankan lower order to finish with phenomenal figures of 3/20 from her 9 overs. She found immaculate, tight support from Mahak Narwase, who delivered an exceptionally effective spell of 3/41 across her 9 overs to keep the opposition under constant pressure.

Kumari Palak kept things tight with an effective spell of 2/24 in her 8 overs, while Gouri Goyal claimed a highly economical 1/14 in her 4.2-over spell. Janhavi Virkar completed the seamless team effort by giving away just 39 runs from her 9 overs while taking a wicket to close out a hard-earned victory.

For India, everything clicked in the field as their disciplined bowling choke hold, led by Vidhi H Parmar and Mahak Narwase, was perfectly complemented by tight bowling to defend a competitive total; they backed it up with critical batting contributions from Kumari Palak and Ishwari Awasare earlier in the day.

Conversely, Sri Lanka’s batting chase collapsed under the weight of a rising required run rate and clinical Indian execution, meaning that despite a fighting middle-order contribution, the hosts failed to cross the line.
