Delhi Premier League Season 3 Set for July 31 Start, Auction Scheduled for July 1

The Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) has announced that the third season of the Delhi Premier League (DPL) will be held from July 31 to August 30, while the player auction will take place on July 1.

The new season comes after a successful 2025 edition, where Nitish Rana-led West Delhi Lions won their first DPL title by defeating Central Delhi Kings by six wickets in the men’s final. In the women’s competition, South Delhi Superstarz, captained by Shweta Sehrawat, defeated Central Delhi Queens to lift the trophy.

Over the last two seasons, the Delhi Premier League has become one of the biggest cricket tournaments in the capital. The league has provided a strong platform for both experienced players and young talent from across Delhi.

Season 3 is expected to feature several well-known cricketers, including India internationals and IPL stars such as Rishabh Pant, Ishant Sharma, Nitish Rana, Harshit Rana, Navdeep Saini, Ayush Badoni, Anuj Rawat, Priyansh Arya, Suyash Sharma, Digvesh Rathi, Mayank Rawat, Prince Yadav, Yash Dhull, Simarjeet Singh, Himmat Singh, Hrithik Shokeen and Sarthak Ranjan.

The women’s tournament is also expected to include top players like Shweta Sehrawat, Priya Punia, Soni Yadav and Ayushi Soni, along with talented youngsters such as Tanisha Singh, Nazma, Monika and Purva Siwach.

DDCA President Rohan Jaitley said the Delhi Premier League has improved with every season and has shown the strong cricket talent present in Delhi. He added that the tournament has become an important part of Delhi’s cricket calendar and has helped several players move on to bigger opportunities in the sport.

DDCA Vice President Shikha Kumar said the league has given many cricketers a chance to show their skills and hard work. She also highlighted the success of the women’s competition, which has helped create more opportunities and recognition for women cricketers in Delhi.

The month-long competition will feature eight men’s teams — Central Delhi Kings, East Delhi Riders, New Delhi Tigers, North Delhi Strikers, Outer Delhi Warriors, Purani Dilli 6, South Delhi Superstarz and defending champions West Delhi Lions.

The women’s competition will include four teams — Central Delhi Kings Women, East Delhi Riders Women, North Delhi Strikers Women and South Delhi Superstarz Women.

With the player auction approaching and another strong group of players available, Season 3 of the Delhi Premier League is set to bring another month of exciting T20 cricket for fans across Delhi.
