Kuwait Women secured a convincing 10-wicket victory over Singapore Women in Match 23 of Group C of the ACC Women’s Premier Cup 2026 at the Selangor Turf Club in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday. The win gave Kuwait their first victory of the tournament and important points in the group stage.

After winning the toss, Kuwait chose to bowl first and their bowlers delivered a disciplined performance to restrict Singapore Women to 94/6 in their 20 overs. Kuwait then chased down the target comfortably, reaching 97/0 in 15.2 overs and winning the match with 28 balls remaining.
Singapore’s innings got off to a poor start as captain Shafina Mahesh was run out without scoring. Wicketkeeper-batter Piumi Gurusinghe also struggled and managed only 2 runs. Anushka Tomar scored 7 while Vinu Kumar added 8, but Singapore found it difficult to build partnerships in the first half of the innings.
The middle order also failed to make an impact as Rashmeka Badri Narayanan was dismissed for a duck and Devika Galia scored only 6 runs. At 53/6, Singapore were in serious trouble and looked set for an even lower total.
However, Roshni Seth produced an excellent fighting knock to help her side recover. She remained unbeaten on 57 from 39 balls, hitting seven fours and one six. Her aggressive batting lifted Singapore’s total and gave them something to defend. Riyaa Bhasin supported her well with an unbeaten 10 from 17 deliveries as the pair added valuable runs in the closing overs.
For Kuwait, Maryam Omar and Maria Jasvi were the standout bowlers, picking up two wickets each. Amna Tariq also bowled well and claimed one wicket while maintaining pressure on the batters. Kuwait’s bowlers kept things tight throughout the innings and prevented Singapore from scoring freely.
Chasing 95 for victory, Kuwait’s opening pair made the task look easy. Priyada Murali and Siobhan Gomez batted with patience and control, making sure there were no setbacks during the chase.
Murali remained unbeaten on 44 from 47 balls, striking five boundaries during her innings. At the other end, Siobhan Gomez scored an unbeaten 42 from 45 deliveries, also hitting five fours. The pair shared an unbeaten 97-run opening partnership and guided Kuwait to victory without losing a wicket.
Gomez was named Player of the Match for her match-winning innings that helped Kuwait complete a comfortable chase. While neither batter took unnecessary risks, both rotated the strike well and punished loose deliveries to keep the scoreboard moving.
The victory moved Kuwait to third place in Group C with two points from three matches. Although their net run rate remains negative, the win keeps their campaign alive. Singapore, meanwhile, remain at the bottom of the table after suffering their third consecutive defeat of the tournament.
Kuwait will look to build on this result in their remaining matches, while Singapore will aim to finish their campaign on a positive note and secure their first win of the competition.
