Suzie Bates is one of the best players in women’s cricket and has played for New Zealand for over 20 years now. She is known for her strong batting, useful bowling, and calm nature on the field. Bates has helped New Zealand win many matches and is respected around the world for her experience and performances.

Born in Dunedin, New Zealand, Bates started playing cricket with her brothers when she was young. She later played domestic cricket for Otago and quickly became one of the best young players in the country. She made her international debut for New Zealand in 2006 against India and soon became an important player for the team.

Before fully choosing cricket, Bates also played basketball for New Zealand at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Later, she decided to focus only on cricket and became one of the top all-rounders in women’s cricket. She also captained New Zealand for several years and did a very good job as leader of the team.

She is currently the highest run-scorer in women’s T20I cricket history and one of the most experienced players in the format. Bates was also the first cricketer, male or female, to score 3000 runs in T20I cricket. She also holds the record for most catches in women’s T20I cricket with 96 catches.

Bates has also played franchise cricket in many leagues around the world. In the Women’s Big Bash League, she has scored 2278 runs in 104 matches with one century and 11 half-centuries. She has also taken 35 wickets in the tournament. She has played for teams like Adelaide Strikers Women, Sydney Sixers Women, and Hobart Hurricanes Women in the WBBL.

In The Hundred, Bates has scored 379 runs in 17 matches. She has also played in the Women’s Caribbean Premier League for Guyana Amazon Warriors Women.
