Annabel Sutherland International Career
Sutherland’s international breakthrough came in early 2020 when she debuted in T20Is against England ahead of the Women’s T20 World Cup. She made an immediate impression with an unbeaten 22 from 11 balls on debut and finished the tournament as a world champion. Over time, her role within Australia’s side expanded across formats, but it was her performances from 2023 onwards that elevated her status. A maiden Test century during the Ashes at Trent Bridge, her first ODI hundred against Ireland, and a historic 210 against South Africa in Perth showcased a player capable of dominating at the highest level with the bat.
In WT20Is, Sutherland has scored 208 runs in 48 matches while taking 44 wickets at an average of 18.63, with best figures of 4/8. Combining sharp pace bowling, athletic fielding, and increasingly valuable batting contributions, Sutherland has become a cornerstone of Australia’s next generation and one of the leading all-round talents in women’s cricket.
