Grace Harris has built a reputation as one of women’s cricket’s most entertaining and explosive players, combining fearless strokeplay with useful off-spin and an infectious personality that has made her a fan favourite. Born in Ipswich, Queensland, Harris developed through Queensland’s cricket pathway and quickly established herself as a destructive batter capable of changing matches in a matter of overs. Her aggressive approach and natural power made her one of Australia’s standout domestic performers long before she became a regular presence in national conversations.
Domestic cricket became the stage where Harris consistently showcased her match-winning ability. A key figure for Queensland Fire and Brisbane Heat, she played an important role in helping the Heat secure back-to-back Women’s Big Bash League titles while also contributing to Queensland’s Women’s National Cricket League triumph during the 2020-21 season. Her performances across domestic competitions kept her firmly on the radar of Australian selectors, but it was in 2023 that Harris produced one of the most memorable innings in WBBL history. Batting for Brisbane Heat at North Sydney Oval, she smashed an unbeaten 136, setting a new record for one of the highest scores in Women’s Big Bash League history.
Grace Harris International Career
Harris first entered Australia’s setup during the 2015 Ashes period after receiving a call-up following an injury to Delissa Kimmince. She made her WT20I debut later that year and immediately showcased the aggressive batting style that had made her such a force in domestic cricket. While opportunities at international level became limited after 2016, Harris continued delivering strong domestic performances and eventually earned a national recall ahead of the 2022 Ashes, underlining her persistence and longevity.
In WT20Is, Harris has played 55 matches, scoring 578 runs at a remarkable strike rate of 154.95, including the highest score of 64 not out. Her power-hitting has produced 25 sixes, while her off-spin has also contributed nine wickets. More than numbers, Harris brings unpredictability and energy to Australia’s setup, making her one of the game’s most dynamic players and one capable of shifting momentum in the span of just a few balls.
