After being put into bat, Malaysia’s innings began cautiously as Nur Aliya M. Hairun tried to find rhythm but was removed for 13, leaving the side at an early setback. Nazatul Hidayah Husna also struggled to accelerate and departed for 5, meaning Malaysia had to rebuild under pressure. The innings found stability through Iridina Beh, who anchored the middle phase with a well-crafted 31 off 35 balls. She stitched together a crucial partnership with Nurin Imanina Mohd Ikrimah, who contributed 1 but helped stabilize briefly before falling.

The middle overs saw a defining stand as Iridina Beh and Nur Qaireen Syakira (8 off 12) rotated strike and kept the scoreboard ticking. However, it was Nur Qalysha Noreffendi who injected momentum with a fluent 18 from 21 balls, forming an important partnership that lifted Malaysia out of a rebuilding phase into a competitive position.

Lower down the order, contributions were limited, with Siti Hamra Mohd Sakri falling cheaply and others unable to add significant runs. Aina Umira Amin remained unbeaten but did not add to the total, while extras played a notable role, contributing 14 runs. Malaysia eventually closed their innings at 90/9 in 20 overs, a total that looked modest but defendable with disciplined bowling.

Indonesia’s bowlers shared the workload effectively. Ni Kadek Dwi Aprillia Putri and Intan Berlian were the standout performers, each picking up 2 wickets while maintaining control. Anace Elina Elizabeth also chipped in with a wicket and an economical spell, while Stevania Enjelita Dira and Ni Komang Sukmayanti provided breakthroughs despite conceding runs.

Chasing 91, Indonesia’s innings never quite gained momentum. Marissa Rahma Gina started cautiously with 6, but early wickets disrupted the chase. Anace Elina Elizabeth managed 4, and Meutia Diaz Sanjoyo added 5, but partnerships failed to develop. The most promising stand came through Hilya Nuraulia Siami Lukman, who top-scored with 13 off 23 balls, attempting to anchor the innings. She found brief support from Ni Kadek Dwi Aprillia Putri (5), but regular wickets meant the required run rate kept climbing.

Ni Komang Sukmayanti added 2 before falling, and a run-out dismissal of Ni Kadek Sri Novi Andayani further dented Indonesia’s hopes. Lower-order contributions from Putu Sintha Cahayani (1) and Intan Berlian (4) were not enough to revive the chase. Stevania Enjelita Dira remained not out on 1, but Indonesia were eventually bowled out for 53 in 15.2 overs, falling well short of the target.

Malaysia’s bowling unit was exceptional, led by Nurin Imanina Mohd Ikrimah, who delivered a match-winning spell of 4 wickets for just 10 runs, dismantling the middle order. Suabika Manivannan provided early control with 1 wicket for 7 runs, while Sharifah Nurqaseh Firdhiya added 2 wickets in a tidy spell. Siti Hamra Mohd Sakri and others chipped in to maintain pressure throughout.
